• Thanks have already tried this... I can see a red Z occassionally - like when looking at Zotero addon preferences but then goes back to reference icon without the Z icon next to it, on a normal webpage.

• I may not have done this properly and so have now installed and opened to have library available on my desktop. This has now resolved problems with Word for mac but still don't see Z icon in bar on Firefox.

• Thanks for that. Restarting seems to have fixed the problem! Have the latest FireFox but how do I know I have the latest Zotero? I clicked on pulldown menu About Zotero and that says I am on latest version - is this correct?
