• I solved this problem on my Mac just now by creating a Smart Folder. Navigate to the folder /Users/your-name/Zotero/storage, then File > New Smart Folder, and in the filters select "Kind is PDF" and save. Windows probably does something similar. …

• Co-signed. I have been using Papers but want to switch to Zotero now that the iPad app is out. Test-driving it and the Mac app now, and no dark mode is a bummer.
