Hmmm... I can't get this to work. I created a test condition, the results of which are puzzling. Removed the third line item from the second search for simplicity. Created two versions of the second search. In version 1, [Attachment File Type] [is] …

I can't seem to replicate that behavior. For the second saved search, if all check boxes are unchecked, I get no results. If the parent/child box is checked, the results are same as the first search. What is the third line item of the second search …

I seem to be missing something here. If I do not specify item type journal article, then won't I end up selecting all items that have web page attachment? I want to delete web page attachments ONLY for journal articles.
-
I am not getting that same behavior. With all checkboxes unchecked, I see no results. If I check the "include parent and child items..." checkbox, then I see everything.
-
That helps, though over 70% of the snapshots have names same as article name (and do not have the word "snapshot"). The phrase "full text" grabs another 20%. I tried an advanced search for "Item Type is Journal Article" and "Attachment File Typ…

I agree with that, adamsmith. Since I am careful about keywords and abstract when the item is created, I see no benefit from keeping the snapshot. Will start the deletion process. I understand there is no automated or semi-automated way to dele…

Okay, thanks!

Anton, thanks for promptly taking care of this! I updated my version and it looks to be working the way it should. bwiernik, thanks for the branch and submitting the pull request.

I second the need for some mechanism to save web pages with less individual files (at least as visible to humans and backup software). Some webpage images/components have crazy long names that can mess up automated backup of the drive. How abou…

Thanks, adamsmith. I was able to download, install, and test the add-on. It appears to be doing what it should be doing. bwiernik, thanks for confirming. The Standalone and library points do not affect me. I hope the add-on does not slow down t…

The Ctrl+Click and Alt+Click options are handy. Thanks. From the discussion on the page provided by aurimas, it seems the plugin works fine for the most part. But then it hasn't been updated for over 2 years. Does any one use it regularly and c…

Right-click worked fine, though it created a "book" item - no big deal. I did not know of the right-click feature :)
-
Aha! Thanks, aurimas, for explaining and offering to fix the issue. Just FYI, this is not urgent for me, but it will be nice to have it fixed.

(6) ? just in case you missed it (8) You are right; sorry, I was not thinking of the end-user experience. Another alternative will be to sort items by added/updated and delete-copy only those that have been added/update since last one week. Tha…

(5) I was thinking along the lines of feed output style. One feed item with a summary of the 50 updates versus 50 feed items one for each update are the same information, just that the latter is (to me) more overwhelming. Something similar to my dai…

Qs (1) -> (4) Okay and thanks. (5) What if I disable auto-sync on intensive update days and sync manually? Thus, if I added 50 items during the day, but synced only once at the end of my session, will that mean one feed for that day showing …

Eofios, in case you are not already on there, also look at Research Gate: http://www.researchgate.net/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ResearchGate

I am quite torn between the options of making my private library public versus having an open membership public group. The former allows me to maintain a fully updated online version of my private library. The latter allows other Zotero users in my …
-
Thanks. I noticed that once an item is added to the group, I cannot edit it in private library and then drag/drop to update the group entry. I have to actually go and make the same edits in the group entry. That sound right? Further, if I creat…

"As for keeping your private library in sync with your group library, you can't." So, each time I add an item to my private library, I would need to also add it to my group library? I could live with that, may be. How about when I edit an item …

(3) How do I set up a one-way sync? I want my local library to update my online, public, library during a sync operation. I do NOT want the online library to update my local library.

DWL-SDCA, my previous message was posted without having read your question/concern. Just to confirm, I will not be sharing full text.
-
I changed the settings at Home > Settings > Privacy and it worked as expected. There are a couple questions about (1): (1.1) How do I share just my entire collection, and not reveal the sub-collections and items assigned to them? (1.…

Promising projects. Thanks for answering and sharing, aurimas. I will take back that users need to specify the journal. If the PDF is being opened from within Zotero, then the journal is easily known. I disagree that this should be entirely aut…
-
I am already quite thankful that Zotero exists. And based on adamsmith's clarification, I guess all I need to do to be even more appreciative is try one of the other reference managers :) Here's what my brain is saying are the steps to extract…

Thanks, bwiernik. On my part, I have sent an email to the developer requesting him to look at this thread.
-
Oh, did I misunderstand what bwiernik meant when he said "just store them on separate lines"? So the PMID/PMCID cannot be on subsequent lines and yet become part of the auto-cite? I think I need a full tutorial on the Extra field :) I left a re…
-
bwiernik, that is great information. Thanks. I noticed that Zotero Scholar Citations (ZSC) is adding the citation count on the same line as some other information coming from the database that was used to create the item. For example, the Extra…
-
Thanks, zuphilip for the tip and adamsmith for the syntax to add DOI to "extra" field. I won't be using it, though, since I have the Zotero Scholar Citations addon using that field. Just to confirm this method works, I added {:DOI: 10.1787/weo-2014-…
