Yes, I wanted to "bump" your suggestion in passing... Devs?

For abbreviations: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/journal_abbreviations and http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/8874/getting-journal-abbreviations-from-a-repository/#Item_45

That's indeed a very good idea. Another frequent request is "How can I see what collections my item is in?". This message (taken from the documentation) could be displayed in the right pane too: « To see all the collections an item is in, select t…

Styles are "applied" to documents (OpenOffice, MS-Word, html, rtf...) and not to library or individual items within zotero. The way items are displayed in zotero has no connection with citation styles. What don't you understand in this section of t…

@mamacas: You're referring to this post which was a user's suggestion. I agree that zotero should be improved on this point (other ""author"" type, preface, postface, foreword, supervisor) but a blank field is unlikely to happen as it may contradic…

Unfortunately, This (good) tutorial is outdated on many points. It has been wikified and updated (a year and half ago...) by Tom Roche here. In some (simple) cases, you should consider using the "translator framework". I use Firebug to get XPath.

Sorry: I meant that I'm not sure that highlighting feature does exist in SA version. This has to be confirmed.

Annotation and highlighting functionality is no longer maintained and doesn't sync with the server. Annotation support may return in another form in a future version.

Click the "journal abbr" heading at the top of the middle column and drag it next to the "publication" heading. edit: I misunderstood your question. My answer might be helpful anyway.
-

Yes my example redefines "in" with "dans" and "page" with "p." for a single page ("page 5") and "pp." for a page range ("pages 5-7"). You should use that only if you're not happy with default-locale="fr-FR" (which should make most of the translation…
-
Lines 32-37 are useless for you. They redefine the "translator" term for the English version. But if you need to redefine French terms, something like that would be useful: Mot à la place de in, ex: dans p. pp. [Edit: same as adamsmith...]
-
En français: l'intérêt des "term", c'est qu'ils sont "localisés", c'est à dire que zotero connait leur traduction en différentes langues que l'auteur d'un style peut spécifier en début de style. Ce que je vous ai "proposé". Si l'on veut changer une…

I'm in a hurry so I can't explain here but read that: http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#localized-terms When you use "text term", you must use the "official" terms names. It's like "text variable" variable...
-
Just to further explain: I only modified terms that were in english for french terms. Thus, references written as example: That's the problem. You don't have to translate "terms" as they are already translated (that what is called "csl locales")…

What's the url of your pastebin?

In the second line which looks like: add default-locale="fr-FR" Source here.

Is there a way to change the settings in zotero to specify that I always want the "place" field filled in? Short answer: no. Citation informations are imported to zotero through "translators" (javascript code). In order to import the "place" info,…

But it seems that Zotero would not import edited volumes entries from Endnote-generated RIS file correctly. They appear as books with 'author' as creator type. Strange, but I'm not a specialist of import from Endnote. I think someone (ajlyon?) might…
-
I'm not sure to understand. In zotero, the creator type can be changed by clicking on the descriptor (author, editor, etc.). Is this ok? Otherwise, what's your citation style ?
-
I'll be happy to help too. The French version of the "official" documentation is far from being perfect as you said. The main difficulty is to update it regularly. I've made some small changes (or translation) in the past but I find that's an unplea…

Can you see the add-on bar? Cf. http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-add-bar

Try that:
-
@adamsmith: +1. and that would be easier...
-
I wanted to ask you to add a new feature: a global history list regardless of the collection. But I realize that the "Anchor to this collection" option might be designed for that? Actually, I'm not sure I understood your explanation. Edit: indeed.
-
Can you update the installer to make it compatible with FF 8.0? You just need to change maxVersion in *.rdf I think... Thank you!
-
A solution would be to add the number of related items directly in the tab "Related". Screenshot here. Discussed there: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/14153/related-tab-advanced-search-functionality/#Item_8

I'm not speaking for the devs but this is probably a false positive. This has already occurred in the past. Make sure that you've downloaded the last version of the Word plugin. Which Zotero are you using?
