No, it wasn't Sync (though I do use that). The new firefox4 package in my distro disabled gnomevfs and used gio instead, causing the difference.

Thanks, yes I remember that 'View Item' in 2.0. Will wait then (and use my mouse for the time-being).

I'm on Arch Linux, I'm pretty sure the firefox4 downloads from mozilla.org have nspr (and other lib) versions which are compatible with the big distros. At Arch we get software just as soon as a stable is released (nspr 4.8.6 was on 18th August last…

And the compilation just finished, that indeed solved things (for me). It now uses xdg-open (like it used to do with firefox3). Thanks a million Dan Stillman, could not have figured this out myself.

Apologies, I thought beta stuff was in this forum (even bug reports) so did not read that forum. Will continue there.

Thank you. I will continue to investigate the issue and post back here if there's something else to report.

I'm sorry, but what I'm seeing suggests that it IS a zotero issue. At the very least, zotero misidentifies the document type (since the firefox behaviour for application/pdf works when I browse to a pdf file) and thus passes the wrong type to firefo…
