Ok, so the IT service solved the problem. I post it here in case someone else has the same problem. Windows Security-->App & Browser Control-->Exploit protection settings-->Mandatory ASLR (Off by default)

Yes, I have done that already, but when I open the new .exe file, I see the progress bar until 100% and then I get the error message I posted above and I cannot move further.

@dstillman, thanks. I haven't done it but now I was looking for the application in my computer and it is not there, so it was probably uninstalled authomatically when I updated to Windows 10...

@adamsmith, this is what the message says when I click twice the .exe file: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.

I cannot install Zotero after having installed Windows 10. And I have checked and the Use Unicode box is not ticked. Any ideas?

I wasn't fast enough to rename it and it disappeared. Any other way to do it, @4GPro ? Grrrr, it's the folder for my last 4 years! I also have it on my Ipad, which is not connected. Do I still have any chance to recover it from there??
