Aha, that fixes it - it was the style that was causing the problem. Not sure why the citations were in a different style to the body text, but it is better now. Thanks for your help Rintze!

It does show up as bold on the Word formatting icon, and I can switch it back to normal by turning bold off there. Unfortunately, as soon as I do anything in Zotero after that that requires reformatting, the bold is back.

Hmm, switching styles doesn't help, but it seems like this is some sort of global issue - all the styles that I have tried are coming up in bold. I recently finished a document using Zotero and had no problems, so I'm not sure what could have cause…
