This seems to be fixed in the latest beta. Thanks!
-
Thanks! I look forward to seeing if you're able to find a solution.

I've left a comment on the GitHub page linked to above that includes attached files to demonstrate how the citations are given an "undefined" identifier. Again, the library is fully synced and updated, so it's a mystery to me why this doesn't work.
-
Update—after ensuring that all my libraries (personal and group) are synced and updated, I can confirm that this is still an issue, so it's not a problem with library syncing. Thanks.
-
Thanks for the reply. My library is synced, except that I have some group libraries that have crept above the quota, so their attachments aren't synced. All the references I'm citing are in my "My Library," which is fully synced. Is having a few at…

@dstillman Thanks for that clarification. I couldn't get LO to recognize the Oracle JDK and spent hours looking ALL OVER the LibreOffice website (bugs, ask LibreOffice, manuals, other forums) and found no mention that LO 7.2 aarm64 simply doesn't wo…

Thanks, Dan. I think I may try the beta and see if it solves my problem.

Just an update to say that this issue persists since my last post here almost exactly 2 years ago. Am I the the only one who takes notes in Zotero and is bothered by having the last couple sentences disappear every few minutes? If you have any ideas…
-
After monitoring this for some time, I can say that it happens when other things are selected aside from the note I'm editing or its parent item. I was just editing a note after I had already done a search for something unrelated and selected a diff…
-
Sorry, I just saw that you had replied to this earlier. Yes, I believe it's only when the search bar is activated. I haven't noticed whether it always happens when the note is selected, but I believe that's normally the case, because my typical work…

Any news on whether we've figured out what's happening with this bug? Am I the only one still experiencing it? (Using 5.0.59) I'm taking notes in a separate pane, trying to remember to remember to clear search terms before I begin typing anything, b…
-
I recently upgraded to the latest version (5.0.55) and have found the same problem recurring again. (It suddenly reverts the last 30 seconds or so of changes and places the cursor at the beginning of the note.) I haven't noticed it since I last post…
-
I just realized there's now 5.0.34. I've updated and will let you know if it happens again.
-
I'm using 5.0.33 and I just experienced this bug again. I was editing a note in a standalone window, while a search term was in the quick search bar (the usual conditions), and the last sentence I wrote disappeared. That was the first time it had ha…
-
So far, if I remember correctly, it's only happened when editing in a separate window.
-
. . . This same problem has happened a couple times since then without anything in the quick search bar, sometimes reverting a whole minute's worth of notes. I think the problem goes away if I select something other than the note I'm working on in t…

Just for the record, with the latest version (5.0.28), I am having this problem even when the quick search bar is empty. Just a couple minutes ago, Zotero erased the last sentence I had written in a note and replaced it with a few words I had erased…
-
Thanks for the explanation. At least it's nice to know that I can empty the quick search bar. I hadn't realized that before.
-
I've just updated to 5.0.19, will let you know if it persists. I can't seem to determine any reliable steps. It seems to be more likely after I've saved a reference and then do a search not long afterwards. Yesterday I noticed I could wake it up aga…

For what it's worth, the freeze seems mostly to happen with large documents with lots of references (book manuscripts). I just tried creating a smaller test document to see if I could reproduce the issue and it works as intended.
-
Yes, that's what I figured. It would be nice if someone could figure out how to make Zotero generate an error dialog without freezing LibreOffice. I wonder if it has to do with different, incompatible versions of java. But it's hard to imagine how Z…

I just updated to LO 5.1.5.2 and it seems to work with the latest version of Java (102). For me the incompatibility happened when I updated to LO 5.1.4.2 but went away with this most recent update.

After copying more references into the shared library, I can now see that some of them (a small minority so far) successfully copy the PDF while others do not. I have no idea why it works with some but not with others.
-
Ah I see, thanks for clarifying about the item being copied when I locate it. I just replicated this issue (copied an item with a working PDF to the group directory, tried unsuccessfully to open it) and submitted bug id D147065213. Thanks …
-
One more detail, if I follow the "Locate . . ." option and select the original PDF from My Library, the attachment can then be opened and also gets synced to Zotero storage and can be accessed via the web. But that means both the personal and group …

Thanks cmbarton for the Dropbox link. When I updated LO for Mac to 5.1.4.2, it no longer recognized my JRE (which seemed sufficient in previous versions) so after a bit of digging I installed the latest JDK (102). The Zotero extension was sudde…

Whatever the particulars that end up getting decided upon, will there be any way to override? Whether through specifying in the CSL file, since not all styles have the same rules, or through the format of the name itself in the database? I'm thinkin…

I'm just wondering if anyone has looked at rolling back this change so that Abu-Zahra comes near the beginning rather than the end of a bibliography? Is the only workaround now to edit the bibliography by hand just before we send an article out? Or …
-
Just in case this is the cause of the problem, I've just changed my Zotero settings simply to use that folder instead of symlinking to it.
-
Yes I'm sure it was not a symlink, at least not on my system. I looked at the file in Finder and in a terminal and it just looked like any other file. I attached it using the same method I use to attach all other files ("Attach Stored Copy of a File…
