Interesting to bring a discussion 7 years ago alive. I confirm that the display="block" produces 2 linebreaks, i.e. one at the beginning and one the end. For example, in the bibliography block, the (where the macro="fullref" is a full bibliogra…

Thanks Adam, I understand the limitation of CSL and Zotero. I appreciate Zotero can support different layout of 2 locales to a certain level, with non-valid CSL. To support 2 different layouts is a basic requirement for bibliography tools. The…

Thanks Adam, The language field in Zotero can be used to get different punctuation marks in the bibliography. E.g. with the following code: if "en" is in the Language field, it can output the m…

Thanks Adam, Do you mean using xml:lang="en" to support 2 locales is non-standard (and currently non-valid) CSL code? If this not valid way, could you please show the valid CSL to support 2 locales? Many thanks.

Thanks a lot, both. FYI, the combination of @article + entrysubtype = {newspaper} in .bib will still be imported to "Journal Article" in Zotero. I have the Better BibTeX installed.

Thanks a lot !

Could I ask how to input .csl code with < > ? E.g. if there is layout suffix="." delimiter="; " between < and > , the code does not show. How to input .csl code in this forum properly please? Such as the code in the comment from : a…

Thank you both, look forward to the new version.

It is good to know the reason of failure is the format restriction, having to be 2016-02-03. Many BibTeX style .bst files use the keyword "urldate" from .bib, and will add strings like "Accessed: " before the "urldate" string, to form the final ou…

Thanks for showing the BibTeX.js, but it does not work: @article{r2, author = {Brush, C}, title = {Herzinfarkt Symptome}, journal = {Family Business Review}, url = {http://www.netdoktor.de/}, year = {2011}, urldate = {29 November 2011}, volume = {2…

I am reporting an issue with Zotero's built-in BibTeX import. No field from .bib can be imported into Zotero's "Accessed (accessed date)". And I recommend to use "urldate" as the keyword in .bib to be imported into Zotero's "Accessed (accessed da…
-
thanks a lot @emilianoeheyns The issue is that no field from .bib can be imported into Zotero's "Accessed (accessed date)". I would think this should be an issue for Zotero's core translator, instead of relying on an extension (add-on) like BBT. A…
-
Could I ask how to open an issue? And what link is the BBT's project page on github please ? thanks a lot! Strange why Zotero cannot inherently get “urldate” into “accessed date” while it exports “accessed date” to “urldate” .
-
I met the same problem. Zotero export the field "accessed date" to "urldate" in .bib. But the "urldate" is not imported to Zotero at all. Which keyword in .bib can be imported into Zotero's "accessed date"?

Thanks for the suggestion, and I will try there. Just for anybody interested, I tested the 'bibliography' section as well, which shows the same behaviour: 'prefix' of 'locale="en" ' does not work, still uses the default locale setting. But 'suffix'…

Thanks for the message. I have been using the 'language' field to get different layout for a long time, the 'layout locale="en" ' works fine. The current CSL CAN generate different layouts by using 'language' field with different inputs.

Just somebody in a university asks students to use this format.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yes, it is from a university's thesis requirement.

If I put Jurisdiction: US in Extra, what is the keyword (variable) for .csl to get the text from Extra? And how to take the 'US' out from 'Jurisdiction: US' ?
-
Thanks, I have tried *text variable="jurisdiction" /* which does not work.
-
I think if the .csl cannot fetch the text from the "Country" field of 'Patent' in the Zotero database, the Zotero should not show it for users to fill? Any other reasons for the users to use this field?
-
By the way, I have checked the https://aurimasv.github.io/z2csl/typeMap.xml#map-patent where it shows the 'Zotero field' is "country" for the UI Label "Country", but the following code actually cannot get the text: *text variable="country" /*
-
Thanks for the reply. I just want to be able to get the text from the "Country" field in Zotero database, doesn't matter how the fomat looks like in Word.
-
Does this mean there is no CSL field to get the data from 'Country' in Zotero database ? in the Zotero 6.0.4 version, in 2022 ?

Hi Adam (and other community members), Could you tell more about how Better BibTeX can keep the text in the 'Language' field in .bib during the import process, instead of being automatically changed by Zotero please? If without Better BibTeX, how…

CSL can support multi-languages by using the 'Language' field, to get different styles for different languages, as show below (the angle brackets which can not show under this web page's settings, are replaced with *): default-locale="zh-CN" *l…
-
Because csl uses locale xml:lang="en" , where the 'en' is to match Zotero's 'Language' field. Now Zotero changes the 'en' in .bib to 'english', which then does not match the setup in .csl styles, so cannot generate references properly. Is this …

To "adamsmith" and Zotero development team: Of course this feature is very useful and can save a lot of effort in clicking the mouse. For example, if you want to cite 5 items, currently you need to click the item, and the right-direction arrow, one…
