Great news. Thanks for your swift responses. @zuphilip Can you let me know when these modifications are live. Thank you!
-
Yes, it seems that I have the same issue as gpf. Firefox (41.0), Zotero & Zotero Standalone (4.0.28.6), Windows 7 Restarting Firefox and Zotero Standalone does not solve this.
-
@almuberto The new version works for me.
-
Okay, will do. Thanks for the info. Now that I started using Standalone, I don't want to miss it anymore.
-
I get the same error message. Given that it is a server side problem, I guess the Github PHP findings apply in my case too although I'm using Zotero with Windows 7.
-
Only with Standalone open. If I use Firefox, it works.
-
Yes, the error also occurs with an empty Word document. ZFF has version 3.5.2 installed (last updated 2015-09-26). ZSA has version 3.1.20.SA.4.0.28 installed (last updated 2015-09-18). Checking for updates results in "No updates found". What can …

Well, good to know you got the work done. I agree with you that it would be useful to have an integrated tool for coding and referencing. Zotero probably doesn't have sufficient resources to add such features. I once tried to code PDFs in MAXQDA bu…
-
Qiqqa seems to be the pdf organizer/reference manager that is the closest to allowing this (by allowing tagging of pdf annotations). Their business model doesn't appeal, however, as they lock you into using their cloud storage system, which is expen…
-
I think a "cited by" and "references" overview (weighted by number of references in texts) would actually be quite nice. It could be used to explore other entries in Zotero and beyond. Qiqqa has definitely some nice information recovery and retrieva…

It turned out that that for some reason I did not have write permissions for the folder .gnome2 and this caused the problems. This has been fixed by using the following command sudo chown -R $USER:$USER .gnome2

@ Dan Stillman & adamsmith Importing PDFs worked nicely with Zotero Standalone 4.0.20 but not in 4.0.28 for me. However, I have to admit that I work with a rather awkward website that displays PDFs embedded within it (still it worked previously…

I still can't get Zotero Standalone running on Linux Mint 17.2 and would appreciate help with this. Thank you.
-
Thank you for updating me. Do you know of any other program that satisfies APA's complex requirements?
-
It did not work for me. I got the following output. >>> Downloading Zotero standalone 4.0.28 for x86_64 >>> URL: http://download.zotero.org/standalone/4.0.28/Zotero-4.0.28_linux-x86_64.tar.bz2 --2015-09-14 20:32:17-- http://downl…

adamsmith and I discovered a renaming behavior that seems to be caused by Zotfile. It would be great if Zotfile could be updated to be a bit less aggressive in Zotero Standalone so that it is possible to import files without them being automatically…
-
@ adamsmith Do you think I should report it in the ZotFile thread?
-
@adamsmith No, but that's a nice feature too. What I have in mind is to select a word or phrase in Firefox by double clicking it and then pulling it in Zotero to a specific entry so that it automatically becomes a tag. This would be helpful because …
-
Wow, I'm very impressed. I've noticed that when I drag the link to the PDF into Zotero, it gets renamed automatically while when I drag the icon into Zotero, the original PDF name is retained. How come? I guess there must be more drag and drop fea…

Unfortunately, it is still not working. Thank you for looking into this.

I started using Zotero Standalone and I really miss the option to save PDF files directly to Zotero as it is possible with the Zotero Firefox version. However, the Zotfile workaround functions reasonably well.
-
Dear Frank, What do you mean by "clean start"? It still does not work at my work computer - Zotero standalone and in Firefox 40.0.3 . A Title: Heuristics and Biases: The Psychology of Intuitive Judgment A Sub-Title: Heuristics and Biases The full…
-
@adamsmith I've changed the Firefox PDFJS configuration values with no success. I've now installed the standalone version of Zotero incl. Zotfile. Extraction of annotations works fine with the standalone version.
-
If anyone knows how to automatically synchronise Title and Sub-Title capitalization in Zotero, I'd be grateful for insights as to how this can be achieved. Dear Frank, I've installed version 1.1.1.3 but it does not work for me. I switch back and f…
-
@adamsmith I've now tried your suggestion. I've uninstalled Zotfile - restarted Firefox - installed Zotfile - restarted Firefox with no success. I could create a new Firefox profile and try to get it working there. However, this does not help in i…

To provide some more information on my request for help (see above), this is from the error console: Zeitstempel: 08.09.2015 14:35:47 Fehler: ReferenceError: zotfile is not defined Quelldatei: javascript:%20zotfile Zeile: 1

I usually start with Google Scholar Search, if I notice that there is an ERIC entry listed and I don't get automatic keywords from the official source that I do the extra step by creating an additional ERIC entry and then merging it with the origina…

Problem: Zotfile does not extract PDF annotations – Bug? Here is what I did. 1. Scanned a chapter from a book with 600 dpi. 2. Used Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to OCR the file with the following settings: - a. Primary OCR Language: English (USA) - b. PDF…

Great job! Thank you zuphilip and phu.

Dear zuphilip, It would be great if you could change 2) and 7) as proposed. Many thanks!
