Thanks, bwiernik! So, when I write in English and German, I then would have to write the translated title always in the Extra field. Would the translated title only be included when the language of the text deviates from the translation? Is there…

I'm still on version 5.0.37 (March 11, 2018) but the latest version is 5.0.55 (August 15, 2018). What can I do about it?
-
@bwiernik I reckon I can use the Extra field only for one function – either book chapter DOI oder container-title-short. What can I do about book chapters that require both? Example: Smith, R. (2006). Technical difficulties: The workings of practic…

Great. It seems a bit techy. I will give it a try when my need becomes more urgent. In the past I used Execute JS to manipulate the database but it is not compatible with the current Firefox Quantum ESR 60.

@bwiernik When I use the Item Type "Book Section" then I only have the field "Book Title" available. There is no field for the "Book Sub-Title" in that case. So, basically there is no other option then to manually change all book title fields to APA…

Thanks! So, I would have to through all my book chapter items and modify the Extra field? This seems quite cumbersome. Is there no better solution? For example, somehow automatically capitalizing the first letter after the colon in the Book Title fi…

The German IT security expert Felix von Leitner recommends to stay away from Electron. See https://blog.fefe.de/?ts=a406d87c Below is a current vulnerability. https://www.trustwave.com/Resources/SpiderLabs-Blog/CVE-2018-1000136---Electron-nodeInte…

Thanks for the info and your work with DataCite. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of the current disadvantages of DataCite over CrossRef metadata for journal articles before signing up with da|ra.
-
Well, I registered the article metadata myself with da|ra. You are probably right that da|ra should be my first point of contact.
-
Thanks for tracking down the bug, @adamsmith . I contacted Datacite regarding the other issues.

I found three more things that appear incorrect in the JSON format. 1) The "type" should not be "report" but "journal article" instead. "type": "report", 2) The title of the journal ended up in the "abstract" field. "abstract": "On Education. J…

No, because the rest of the team and even the hired wordpress developer decided not to go down that route. Unfortunately, they are no metadata aficionados. Therefore, I'm looking for an "easier" solution to start a new attempt to find a workable sol…

Colleagues and I have set-up a WordPress-based online journal. Is there a relatively easy and straightforward way to expose the correct metadata so that Zotero recognises the items as journal articles rather than a blog post? Below is an example en…

When I import a report with the DOI: 10.4232/10.bpg.1.0 via the "Add by identifier" button, I get the following title entry. [{"lang"=>"de", "text"=>"Best Practice Guide for the Registration of Resources with da|ra"}, {"lang"=>"en", "text"=…

+1 For me it also seems slower – every search including 'Title, Creator, Year'. I have a very large database with many entries. However, it has not grown significantly after the version 5 upgrade. The slow search of version 5 annoys me so much th…

@gondolin Thank you! Your fix works for me too. I would like to know why the new Zotero Add-on requires this change. Personally, I would like to have third-party cookies disabled or enabled individually.

I actually experience this problem even with Zotero 5.0.34. Error: Can't import T&F pages to Standalone from Firefox. Pops up with "adding to my library" but times out. My workaround is to use the DOI and import the data via CrossRef but I then …

You might want to check out da|ra: https://www.da-ra.de/en/home/ da|ra is the registration agency for social science and economic data jointly run by GESIS and ZBW. They provide free DOI numbers. Please be aware that ResearchGate is a commercial …

They could probably grant you access if you state your purpose but I understand that it is cumbersome.

Unfortunately, I think permalinks require a subscription my institution doesn't have. If you have access to DigiBib, you shoud be able to find the article by searching for: Title Words: Regulatory policy outputs and impacts: Exploring a complex rel…

I currently experience problems with the import of authors and tags from the FIS Bildung. When I import, for example, the following entry, I get imperfect data. http://www.fachportal-paedagogik.de/literatur/vollanzeige.html?FId=866187#vollanzeig…
-
@zuphilip I have encountered a data problem within DigiBib and wanted to ask whether you can solve it. Sometimes the "Schlagwörter" are separated by a semi-colon instead line-by-line. This results in Zotero in an import of all Schlagwörter as one si…

The item import is possible again but the "Schlagwörter" are not imported as Tags. It would be great if this could be restored too. See for example: http://www.fachportal-paedagogik.de/literatur/vollanzeige.html?FId=1041537#vollanzeige

I just wanted to add that pedocs still works. See for example: http://www.pedocs.de/frontdoor.php?source_opus=4468 Maybe this helps with the trouble shooting.

The German Education Index "FIS Bildung" has been relaunched. Unfortunately, with the relaunch the item import does not work anymore. Can this be fixed please?
-
If you use APA and have books with DOIs, then they need to be entered into the extra field. For example: Extra: DOI: 10.1007/978-3-531-90171-8
-
@bwiernik I would certainly give it a try. Have you used it successfully? An automated solution would obviously be more convenient.
-
@sklein2 I also get incomplete input from JITP. Please update us on your progress.

Colleagues and I are looking into setting up a scholarly journal on WordPress and are looking for best practice to provide bibliographic metadata for the articles for Zotero users but also beyond. Who can point me to WordPress-based journals that ha…

@adamsmith This is a good idea. If everything in the field "Sonstiges" would be combined in one note, no information would be lost but it would be much cleaner. @zuphilip Unfortunately, my university does not provide Zitierlinks. This is due to di…
