The most likely cause would be a missing dependency for the new React-based code in the tag selector that comes in from Zotero. In the Jurism directory, be sure all is up to date with "npm update', then "npm run build", and be sure that the ./build.…

The version of Jurism that is installed on your system had a bad version of the word processor integration plugin. The current version is 5.0.66m52. You should be able to upgrade further from "Help" -> "Check for updates". If that doesn't work, r…

@shopkins04 This is a Jurism installation? (Edit: Definitely a Jurism install, I have the report ID log here. Will respond shortly.)
-
That's ... CSL 0.8 - a very old coding pattern that will not work in the current Zotero citation processor (unless Zotero still performs XSLT magic on these early styles).
-
Jurism does encode data in JSON within the Extra field, but @adamsmith is right that it's messy (and fragile to boot), and I have a plan to move it to a key:val format.
-
@Pascah Sorry to intrude, but it's not mentioned in the thread so I'll ask. What is your Zotero version?
-
You can validate your modified style here. Also check out the step by step guide to style editing (changing the style name and ID are particularly important details).
-
Click on one of the links in that list and see if it adds it to the (currently empty) list of styles.

@rpenfi2: Can you export an item that fails as CSL JSON, paste it to https://hastebin.com, save it there and post the URL back to this thread? Just to be sure we're looking at the same scenario. I'm not (yet) able to reproduce the failure here. Jud…

That message pops up at the next add/edit on citations that have been edited directly in the word processor text. To avoid the pop-up and keep everything updating automatically, change citation text by setting the cursor in a citation and clicking A…

In Jurism (a Zotero variant), Ctrl + left/right arrow with two-name field open for editing pushes/pulls character by character between the fields. Would that be helpful for these if available in Zotero?

Not all styles number the bibliography, and you can choose another. But this isn't going to work well. Where does the requirement to use BB with a bibliography come from? Is it a personal preference or an imposed requirement?
-
Yay! That's good to know.
-
Current version is 5.0.66. Can you upgrade from Help -> Check for updates?
-
@dommomite: None of the Bluebook styles in the Zotero/CSL styles repository define a bibliography. What are the requirements for your thesis?
-
@dtwrublewski: There will be a change in the way citation-number works as a sort key from processor release 1.1.242. When used as a primary key in cs:bibliography with sort="descending", whether as a variable or via a macro, citation-number will rev…

It would be a good idea to enable year-suffix disambiguation in your modified style, so that there is a tight match between each reference and a single item in your bibliography.

Saved as *.docx from Word or from LibreOffice?

mbetkier's sync issue has been resolved. Three items were blocking sync. As only a small number of items was involved, recreating replacements in the local library, deleting the originals and emptying trash was a workable solution, and the sync now …

It looks to be a Jurism report, I have it here. @mbetkier: On the Zotero forums, be sure to mark questions related to Jurism with [Jurism] in the subject line. There are mailing lists for the Jurism project, and I would recommend that you sign up f…

Per two grad students here (one a government official) changing to the simplified form on the right will be correct.
-
@dereksifford: To be clear, the above is not meant as a criticism of the pattern you have applied in ABT/astrocite; but the pattern described by adamsmith and bwiernik is the correct one for name suffixes chez Zotero. With respect to Zotero records,…
-
@dereksifford The patterns recognized by Zotero have worked fine over the past decade, and large volumes of user data are now stored that way. Apart from that practical issue, the patterns you suggest above don't seem to account for dropping and non…

I think that may just be the way it's meant to work.

Good to hear! Thanks for posting back.

So after an initial merge, with the items sorted in title order, left-clicking on an item does not highlight the duplicate partners of the item that you click on and show the merge view in the right-hand pane?

We don't have a good grasp of the requirements of the Lluelles Guide, so we can work toward a better solution at a later time. I can help, and I would like to learn, but it will take some time, so for the time being just keep working in the way you …

The update for Mac (to version 5.0.66m51) just went up. The update should be applied automatically within a day, or you can call for it with Help -> Check for updates. I don't have Word on my Mac machine, so I can't test, but this should put thin…

@mchenette: I see roughly what you have done to get your citations right. Typing the body of the citation into the prefix field and suppressing everything else is not the best behavior for you: it would be better for the system to produce the correc…

I think that @mchenette is wanting to suppress case names in order to chain together a series of cites to the same case.
