A revised version of the Zotero RTF/ODF-Scan for Zotero plugin is now available, which should process the link-wrapped citations correctly. @tuomasgreen: Let us know how you fare with the plugin. It should Just Work, but if there are problems we'd …

The latest release of MLZ and the Abbreviation Filter have been fixed to support document-level compatibility with Zotero (and, I think, Mendeley). Tread carefully with this: the code is very new, and there may be glitches, but my initial tests hav…
-
Done. Thanks for the nudge.
-
Ha-ha. And sorry for the delay. I did some work on the abbrevs filter recently, though (a new release will be out one of these days), and realized that the syntax had changed -- so there wasn't anything that needed fixing, I just needed to get the …

I've posted a thread on the MLZ issue here.
-
This is not normal, of course. Your best bet will be to report the issue when the plugin has stopped recognizing pages that it normally should, and before you reinstall. The developers may ask you for information will be useful in identifying the ca…

It depends on where people put their priorities, but it seems like transient formatting errors would be a smaller issue than the portability of research data.
-
I wouldn't feel confident about collaborating with MLZ and plain Zotero, especially not in a document. Your particular concerns? I'm happy to test whatever scenarios you find worrying; if testing leads us to identify bugs and address them, maybe you…

If you are entering everything through to the section number pinpoint into the item title field, immediate back-references (id. or ibid.) will work correctly only if you are referring to exactly the same portion of the statute in the two cites. It …

Sorry for the long delay in responding. I've updated the installer to cover modern versions of Firefox. I'm not sure how well it will work with the latest Zotero versions, but it does run. If you notice anomalies, post back: I'm not sure how quick …

Since you have one system that shows the failure and one that does not, you are in a good position to spot possible causes. The details will be important. Does the delay occur in a fresh document on both systems, or only with particular existing do…

(You should update Zotero in any case. We're currently on version 4.0.20. Version 4.0.2 is well out of date.)

I can't speak to the operations performed in the word processor, but a 56 second delay for inserting a citation is most definitely not normal. Is there a common feature to the references (or the style) that cause the prolonged delay?
-
Also, did you switch to another style, then back?
-
@Gracile: Thanks! This modern wiki business is very new to me. :-)

I'm looking at adding an entry to the Knowledge Base, and I can't quite seem to figure out how to add a page. There is the "playground", which allows creation of a page, but there doesn't seem to be a channel for publishing from there. On the publis…

I think this one is on me, at least for the first draft.
-
Might it be that LibreOffice will work more reliably with the plugin?
-
On (1), your best bet will be to use the Classic citation dialog. Visit the gear menu, open Preferences, and select the Cite tab. Tick the "Use classic Add Citation dialog" box to set the Classic popup as the default. In the dialog, you can add desc…

That's great, and many thanks for this clear set of instructions. I've tested the wrapped cites with the RTF/ODF Scan plugin, and conversion currently fails (or at least can fail). It's a small problem, though, and it should be fixed in a fresh re…

Assuming that you can get links to work, here's how to enable dragging of "invisible" wrapper cites (for all systems): (1) In Firefox, type "about:config" as the address in the URL bar (without the quotes). (2) Firefox will prompt with a warning. …
-
Oh, wait. Correction: The zotero://select URL will probably not be automatically clickable in a LibreOffice document, even when it has been registered as a protocol in the operating system. So we need to do a different test of it. Try this: (1) D…

Progress, that's good to hear. I don't know Windows well, but if Win 7 still has a registry, it looks like this has worked for people: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/20040#Item_6

Sorry, this is covered in 4.0.20m456, just out). The problem with non-p. locator labels was an oversight on my part. It should now recognize any locator that the processor can ingest. For the HTML wapper around the linked cite, it's a little more …

(On a separate item, is a list of zotfile wildcards available? The info link in the plugin is broken, and I flipped through the source online, but didn't spot where they are defined.)
-
Not sure how well this would merge to current Zotero source, but it looks like this is the patch: https://github.com/fbennett/zotero/commit/7e0089e7b8475fd1f4f35a86eeea46bec413aa11

Dan: In case it's relevant, citeproc-js can be run from locale and style input expressed in JSON, which makes it possible to run the processor in an async worker thread. The kit for setting it up (an XML-to-JSON conversion script [in Python, but it'…

This was a silly mistake in some recently added code. If you update MLZ (now at version 4.0.20m454), things should work more smoothly.
-
Ah, that SQL statement is MLZ code. I'll look at it tomorrow.
-
I haven't used zotfile, so there may be MLZ-specific issues to sort out. I'll install it tomorrow and see if I can make it fail.
