As a note on using official Standalone Zotero to edit a database containing MLZ records, I've done some testing. Although I said above that there may be a risk of losing multilingual fields in this case, I have tried to make that happen, and the fie…

Nathan, The Zotero developers are the only ones with access to the Report ID submissions, and they are unlikely to provide support for an issue in MLZ. If you are getting {Citation} in the document and then no response from the plugin, that sugges…

This probably isn't exactly what you are after, but it will do something close to that: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/18064/2/please-add-better-integration-with-scrivener/

One approach might be to use multiple profiles: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles There might be better answers.

Is it possible that there is a scrap of the old first footnote code lurking in the document? That would explain the difference in behaviour with endnotes and footnotes. As a big-hammer way of testing that, you might copy-paste the document content o…

Great to hear!

I've tested here with Firefox 17 and MLZ 3.0.11m310 under Linux, and with MLZ 3.0.11m310 under Windows 7 (didn't check the FF version there). If the "Include Zotero link wrappers in QuickCopy citations" box is ticked, Ctrl-Alt-A and pasting into a t…

Try Ctrl-Alt-A. The label on the second toggle is a little misleading. Citation and bibliography entry output are only switched for the drag/shift-drag operations. For the hotkeys, the assignments stay the same, and wrapped cites are only triggered…

I'm not sure what the steps are to install Python modules on a Windows machine, but the zodfscan script is packaged in the standard way, and should be easy to install, following generic instructions for that platform.

Stephan, That's how it's supposed to work. As far as I know, the tool will work with Google Docs saved in ODF format. The links won't be active in Google Docs itself, which is unfortunate, but the conversion to live references should work fine. It's…

Really? I thought that a URI history was stored on items when dragged across group boundaries, so that they would continue to work. Is that assumption incorrect?
-
Yes, I'm just swamped with other work. My time is fully budgeted for University work up until Christmas Day, and I hope to finish the book during the short holiday. (An abbreviations repository could presumably be built as a front-end UI on GitHub a…

Have you validated the style against the CSL schema? https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/wiki/Validation
-
@wonblee: I've merged the upstream changes to the MLZ channel, try updating translators and see if it works now. I've adopted the upstream changes verbatim. I don't have time at the moment to check how well the date field assignments line up with e…

Yep. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

CSL is not currently capable of detecting page boundaries. If it were added to the language, it is unlikely that it would be turned on in a word processor -- even in LaTeX, formatting changes triggered by a page-break can cause an infinite processin…

Dear all, Try installing this processor plugin. Its only effect is to swap in the latest version of the citation processor, which I've just patched to fix this problem. The plugin should disable itself at the next Zotero upgrade, at which point it …

I get this in MLZ as well, it's definitely a bug in the processor. I'll work on a fix, but meanwhile you can avoid the bug by setting page numbers as "p. 123" in the locator field.
-
Yep. The MLZ update track covers everything you need for the client.

I've tested on two separate platforms, with the same result, saving and reopening in three separate file formats (*.doc, *.docx, and *.xml). Without reproducing the error here, there is not much I can do to help, I'm afraid. If you are able to iden…

If possible, try upgrading Firefox to version 17.

I've run a test with Word 2010 under Windows 7, with the latest MLZ and the current Word Integration plugin (version 3.1.9). It works fine; the style is saved with the document, and takes effect automatically when the document is reopened after clos…

I'll try to find a Windows PC around the building and check this out. It works fine with LibreOffice on Linux, perhaps there is something specific to Word or the Windows environment.

Have you tried inserting a citation into one of the old documents using a recent Zotero release? To be clear, if you select a citation style using current MLZ, save the document, and then find that it prompts you to select a citation style when the …
-
@wonblee, MLZ uses a separate channel for updating translators, that includes some variants of the standard ones, to provide support for legal and multilingual metadata where it is available. Changes to the standard translators are merged in from t…

The new copy should have the same settings and data in it as the original. If a Zotero style was selected when the document was saved, and the settings persist when the original document is closed and reopened, the same should be true of the copy. I…

(responding the adamsmith's amended note on zotero.org: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/26616?page=1#Comment_140845) Yes, the EasyBib tool is aimed at entry-level users, particularly in secondary education. Smooth migration of their users' data…
-
The EasyBib project contacted the CSL team early in the development of the current citation processor running in Zotero. At that time the EasyBib team was keen to provide a path for their users to migrate data to other systems. I would suggest conta…

This can be done with a non-standard extension to the CSL language documented here: http://gsl-nagoya-u.net/http/pub/citeproc-js-csl.html#institution-names-multilingual Two points to note are that because the syntax documented under the link is …

It is off by default, but you can turn it on by visiting gear menu -> Preferences -> Cite, and unticking "Use classic Add Citation menu".
