True. But even if journal titles can be passed through untouched, that still leaves book titles on the chapter type, which are also CSL "container-title". That makes me think it might be best to extend the behaviour to cover that as well as "title".…
-
Thanks for reporting this. If you update the MLZ client now, you should get the proper behaviour.
-
The behaviour could be extended to cover journal titles, but we should confirm first: Does anyone know of languages or styles where this would cause problems?
-
It looks like this: http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5306/languagee.png

Just click on the field and enter a value. It's best to use the standard ISO language abbreviations. You can find a list here.
-
That will work, but edits done via official Zotero may lose the multilingual fields in one or more entries. MLZ can be built as a Standalone client; it's just a matter of finding people to do the builds, since my time is limited and I don't have ac…

Hi Olga, As adamsmith says, MLZ should work with Firefox 17 -- I pull the Zotero 3.0 changes across to MLZ from time to time, and it's very much up to date at the moment. If you run into problems, do let us know though.
-
Yes, indeed there have been. The documentation to back it up is not out yet, but UN documents are supported by the legal styles built for use with Multilingual Zotero. The project is at http://citationstylist.org/.
-
Can add it if there are no objections ... will wait awhile for comments. Feel free to bump this thread if there is no activity for a week or so.

@ironfrown: I should add one note about the MLZ ODF Scan method when used with Google Docs. The drag-and-drop cite placeholders contain URLs that are meant to be clickable, so that you can easily access the original Zotero item. Unfortunately, Goog…
-
@adamsmith: Thanks for the mention! On the technical side, the font format and conversion method have been tested against real-world documents, and Multilingual Zoter (MLZ) has reasonably smooth options for controlling when and how "drag-and-drop" c…

Unfortunately, tracing citations on the basis of their written appearance on the page is a lot of work, and it is always going to be fragile. Even if the technical barriers were cleared, the utility of just grabbing the surrounding paragraph will be…

It looks like there is an old and a new version of the VIP site. If removing the "oldweb" prefix from the host address in your sample URL leads to a page that works for me.
-
Zotero QuickLook is worth a look.
-
We can take a look at your style if you like. Paste the code into http://gist.github.com, save it as a public gist, and post the URL back here. If you are getting & in the output, it must be set somewhere in the style. Note that the "and" attrib…

Just remove the and="" completely.

For instance, is there no way I could concatenate the two name variables into a third variable and run the subsequent-author-substitute on the third? It is not possible to do that in CSL.
-
The extended version of CSL recognized by Multilingual Zotero (MLZ) has support for long and short forms of an institution name (doc). An external plugin (the Abbreviation Filter) is used to supply the short form. The extended syntax only works in M…

Mark: Have you looked at the visual editor adamsmith linked to above?
-
Right, got it. I just misunderstood the formatting you were after.
-
Looks like I misunderstood. The bracketed author is just the full author name?
-
You shouldn't be getting the et al. term on a citation label, and I'm unable to reproduce that behaviour. Could you paste the code of your style to http://gist.github.com, save it as a Public Gist and post the URL back here?
-
@stefan.xyz: If my guess is right and you are using MLZ, try updating the client now and see if it works better.
-
In MLZ, there is a "CSL" selection in the Languages preferences menu, and it has no effect -- and the citation style follows the UI language instead. Since the symptoms reflect this bug so closely, perhaps this is with MLZ? In any case, I'll take a…

I've implemented this now. In the latest version of the processor (not yet released, as of Zotero 3.0.9), the title-short and container-title-short variables correspond to the abbreviated form of the title and container-title variables (as supplied …

Do you have et-al-min="1" and et-al-use-first="1"? If so, try setting et-al-min to 2; it will have the same effect, and you won't lose the first author's name.
-
Yay. Thanks for reporting back.

I think I've fixed this. Please install this temporary plugin and see if the error goes away. All the plugin does is to swap in the latest version of the CSL processor (the one I've just fixed). If the fix works, you'll need to run with this "Zotero…

This is a processor bug of some sort: I get the same failure with Linux and LibreOffice. I'll take a look; more news soon.

It looks like this is just "Elsevier (without titles)". You can search for it in the Zotero styles repository: http://zotero.org/styles
