Yeah. More precisely, it pointed Zotero to ~/.zotero/$PROFILE. The files under ~/Zotero (including for example "locate", "pipes", "storage", "styles", "translators" directories and "zotero.sqlite") were "equivalent" to those inside ~/.zotero/$PROFIL…

Sure, though I think I posted them above. The original library was under ~/.mozilla/firefox/$PROFILE/zotero. During the migration, it was apparently moved to ~/Zotero. I'm under Fedora 25 (Firefox 50.0.2).

Good news: I've just found out that the original library had been moved to a new ~/Zotero folder. So it wasn't actually lost, just moved to a place which did not match the one where Zotero was looking for it.

@adamsmith is right: I'm not looking for a solution for myself, I just wanted to report a potentially very serious bug.

Thanks. So I understand you just committed a fix for the next Zotero release? If I read the CSL specification correctly, the placement of the suffix on the first date field isn't a bug, since it is exactly what is documented. In practice, it sh…

FWIW, I have the same problem on Fedora, and I have filed a bug here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86793 So far no reply, maybe adding "me too" comments could help getting some attention. The bug is likely trivial. @…

OK. I've managed to see Firefox hang and then come back to life after a few seconds once, so maybe there's indeed a timeout. I'll try to see this again, but I think I've also waited for longer than that without luck. I'll have to investigate wh…

Thanks! Indeed, once out of about 10-20 attempts, dig takes about 5 seconds to return a result. What's weird is that it reports the lookup only took a few ms. And the Firefox hang lasts more than 5 seconds. $ dig 172.16.22.148 @8.8.8.8 ; DiG 9.9.4…

I've been able to reproduce the hang once on a different network today, but then my second attempt succeeded. So there's really something non-deterministic going on. Once Zotero has done the reverse lookup, will it run it again after each restart of…

Yeah, I need to kill it, I've never seen it become reactive again after the hang. But I've not waited for more than a few seconds. I've seen the hang when connected to two different networks, and it appeared after a system upgrade, so I'm incli…

The kind of hanging which make the software hang. ;-) Nothing special about it, Firefox does not respond and eventually need to kill it (which is suggested by my window manager). There's plenty of details in the stack trace: https://bugzilla.mozil…

Ah, I finally managed to reproduce the hang with the debug logs enabled: http://pastebin.com/ssZdCB3d

Thanks. The problem is, while two days ago I was suffering from this hang all the time, now that I need to debug it it's gone. I'll tell you when/if I'm able to reproduce it.

Out of curiosity, what are the technical reasons preventing this to work in Word? How about LibreOffice?

It would be awesome if Zotero marked all author names as "Ignore all", so that they do not appear as underlined even outside of Zotero fields. This is the kind of detail that makes software look so smart.

I second this request. I think it is common for users from non-English speaking countries to frequently write documents in their native language and in English. Manually switching Zotero's language "hidden" option is painful, and error-prone since r…
