If this is macOS, and you're saying you copied text from a Word comment, you can just copy some other non-comment text to the clipboard. This is a known bug that will be fixed in the next release.

This is a Zotero note? If you hadn't left the note, you could have just pressed Ctrl/Cmd-Z or used Edit → Undo a few times. But since it sounds like you have, you'd have to try restoring from one of the automatic backups.
