In your online library, you have a few items from 2023, a few from 2024, and one item from today. If you're using a desktop app that's synced with this account, you should see the same thing there. If you're looking for other data, you'd have to sa…

You're misremembering some part of this. Zotero permanently and immediately saves all items, either to the desktop app if you have it open or to the online library if the desktop app is closed and you give it permission to do so. Nothing about closi…

Zotero saves all data locally automatically. If you were using it on a computer, your data would still be in Zotero on that computer unless you deleted it somehow (e.g., by accidentally deleting your Zotero database while using some disk cleaning to…

Can you provide a link to a PDF that's slow and a Debug ID for opening it in the reader and it taking a long time?
-
They would be on the computer you were using when you created them. Or, if you switched accounts, Zotero would have warned you that it was going to delete local data and made you confirm that before it let you proceed.
-
This is likely some sort of misunderstanding. Nothing in the account you're posting from has ever been deleted. Can you explain exactly where you're looking? In the web library or in the desktop app? It looks like you synced the current account to…

Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”). Does that help? Does this happen for all PDFs or only some? If only some, can you provide a link to a PDF for which it happens? We'll also want a Report ID.

Plugins can do essentially anything that Zotero can do. You’d have to look at the code to figure out how.
-
The menu thing would just be a Word bug. For the actual error, then, see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents for your existing document.
-
We wouldn't do that, but a plugin could do that.
-
We really are happy to help debug this, but we need a Debug ID for a minimal example, not your original document. You should also email support@zotero.org with a share link for the new reproduction document and a link to this thread.

Zotero 7: View → Use Dark Mode for Content Zotero 8 beta: Appearance popup

Sorry, we have no plans to do this. From Annotations in Database: Early versions of Zotero 6 included a “Store Annotations in File…” option as well, but it could result in file conflicts and lost data, and it was removed.

Does it work properly in a new, empty document?
-
What exact version of Word? Do you have any other add-ins installed in Word?
-
(Please start new threads for new issues. I've moved this to a new thread.) Does this happen in a new, empty document? If so, can you provide a Debug ID for reproducing it? If not, see Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents.
-
That doesn't appear to be for a new, empty document. It's generating lots of citations there.
-
On Google Scholar, it's just site access limits.
-
Can you provide a screenshot that shows what you're referring to?
-
No, you should reset the location of your Word Startup folder in the Word settings.
-
It's possible the citation dialog is appearing behind your browser window. Look through your other windows. (The window would belong to the Zotero app.) If you're sure it's not that, provide a Debug ID from Zotero for reloading Google Docs and repro…

You'll need to say what the actual problem is that you're experiencing. See Steps to Reproduce for the kind of description we need. If you're referring to the file-sync error, you're getting a 401 Unauthorized error from your WebDAV server.
-
@Loubops: The yellow bar only appears when you click Add Note instead of Add/Edit Citation. As above, press Esc to close the dialog properly, and then click Add/Edit Citation.

Please post development questions to zotero-dev. We try to keep technical discussions there.

You have lots of plugins installed, and they're likely causing the various problems you're seeing. To start, restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, you'…

Zotero citations are simply Word fields, and any that are active (i.e., haven't been accidentally or intentionally flattened) would show in gray as long as you have Word field shading enabled.
-
You're using the web library. All documentation on our site is about the actual Zotero software that you download and install on your computer. https://www.zotero.org/download/ https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/installing_on_a_chromebook

(LLMs are extremely likely to make things up about Zotero. Please don't try random things they suggest — just ask us. You should clear those prefs, which are totally made up.) That page saves extremely slowly via SingleFile, which Zotero uses for s…

(Note that that's a Report ID, not a Debug ID.)
