Excellent - thanks.

Oh...great!! Thanks @pjweiss

@bwiernik yes, by "sustained" I did mean that I continue to get sync errors when clicking the sync arrow/button. However, similar to @aalst , I find today that the problem has gone. Sorry to have bothered you!

Thanks everyone, especially @adomasven , for diagnosing the problem and workarounds. It seems pretty clear now from the entries in the related LibreOffice bug report (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109327) that this problem rela…

I have logged a bug with LibreOffice/Document Foundation - see https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109327

Hi @adomasven - I ran libreoffice writer from a terminal. Output shown below. The GTK error message appears as soon as writer starts. There is no other output to terminal generated before, during or after the crash. ------Terminal Output-----------…

@adomasven I reset my LibreOffice (LO) profile (by renaming the original profile) and then installed the current (v5) integration plugin by going to Edit > Preferences > Cite Pane > Word Processors Tab > Reinstall LibreOffice Add-In Butt…

I've tried two tactics to repair/assess the problem. Firstly: REINSTALL PLUGIN. Remove new Integration plugin in LibreOffice -> Tools -> Extension Manager, close LO, install the extension from Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processo…

@adomasven I followed your suggestion, completing it with a computer restart. LO still crashes immediately when inserting a Zotero citation into a new document.

I have tried restarting, twice now. It makes no difference; the problem persists.

I noticed and installed updates to Zotero 5, bringing my installation up to Zotero 5.06. After these updates I was able to open a new LO document, do several citation insertions and edits, add a bibliography, save close and reopen the document, and …

I too have updated to Java 8 (1.8.0_131) and selected this version of Java in LO Preferences -> Advanced. As it did for @Abdessamadd , the problem persists.

I've had the same problem - it's reported at https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/66609/libreoffice-v5-crashes-when-used-with-zotero-v5?new=1. The crashes occur when any button on the Zotero toolbar in LibreOffice is used, EVEN WHEN ZOTERO IS CLOSED.

I know this is likely to be of little use, but just in case, I have logged some more Debug Output. The Debug ID is D1563793773. The output was created while I typed the following text into a separate note window that had shown the lag described prev…

The Debug ID is D50432034. It includes about 10,000 lines. This is what accrued in the interval (circa 45 minutes) from just before opening an independent note window, to when slowness was clearly an issue, which clearly takes some time. The slownes…

I notice that Zotero now seems to incorporate the feature asked for here - thank you!!

Thanks @adomasven, I had to carry on, so I replaced each citation that wasn't working with newly inserted citations (yes, boring!). That paper is now in another iteration of revisions, sadly with MS Word users so I've asked them to avoid editing cit…

> @AdoMasven: If you cannot reproduce the error from a fresh document it would be great if you emailed a subsection of a document that produces this problem to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread. --- I will definitely do this!! Thanks …

Thanks Adam - I should clarify. I use Zotero Standalone on Ubuntu. Yes, initial selection does produce a highly visible orange highlight for the selected item in the list pane. However, once edits are commenced in the adjacent pane - e.g. typing of …

The suggestions here seem to me to apply to Zotero Firefox. How can I edit CSS for notes windows in Zotero Standalone? TIA

Thanks Simon and joehill - working off your info, I resolved this issue by uninstalling the Zotero Connector extension and reinstalling. This means that the latest version (4.0.8.2) is installed, and Zotero works again. Cheers
