Thanks fbennet, but that does not solve my problem. When I add new articles it will come back. There are very many different tags in my libraries at the moment and tags looks totally useless unless I can make some of them aliases of each other.

Good points, Dan. Isn't it a bit like two scenarios? One scenario could be that you work with one collection, but from different computers. (That could be for example your desktop computer and your tablet.) The other scenario could be that…

For me they might be good options. I might be working with the same thing from different computers. It is a bit like reading a book on your tablet or on your phone. You want them to sync the reading positions, notes, etc.
-
Sounds nice. But in my case it is often a collection inside a group library. Will that be covered too? Actually there are two principle ways this could work: - Remembering my library and collection on the current computer. - Remembering …

Theoretically it could keep track of the last library I saved to on my pc. It might need some changes to Zotero, of course.
-
Thanks adamsmith, that is nice. I did not know about it. However it did not save to the library I had opened last time on that computer. Perhaps it could use the library I had as the current library the time I last synced?

Thanks for the information, Gracile. I tried cb2Bib, but it only gave me the reference to the PDF file itself. Is that perhaps all it can do? I wrote down another way which I found to be rather convenient: Working with references in P…

Hm. I see. It is probably my own translator that does not work then ;-)
-
Thanks adamsmith :-)
-
Thanks aurimas. I believe you, but I can not find the BiTeX export. Where do you see it? BTW, they have a Mendeley icon, but no Zotero icon.
-
wonderpup: Did you do anything more to this? Or did anyone else do it?
-
I mean that the users will use the web interface for looking at the database. BTW there are several problems with the web interface, but that is another question.
-
Thanks adamsmith. Hm, that is strange. I just tested the recipe from aurimas: "Or you can enable PDF attachments in Preferences -> General -> Automatically attach associated PDFs and other files when saving items" Now it works for b…

adamsmith: Yes, I know there is no link attached for example when I save from a Google Books page. And that is quite troublesome. It means the users of the library where I save this will have a lot of trouble finding the books. They are not lib…
-
adamsmith: Yes, I understand it is in line with a long-standing policy. And I think that policy unfortunately is not very good (for the reasons I have given).
-
Thanks adamsmith. With this logic you can of course not include the URL for a book unless it is an electronic book, or? ;-) More troublesome is that if you include the link to the full text of an article with restricted access many people …

So I actually search for the Pubmed page before adding the reference. And now you have just made that work a waste.
-
One more thing: If you go to the Pubmed page there is always a link to the DOI page. The other way round is never possible.
-
aurimas: It says exactly that. And it does not work. I still think the change is a very, very bad idea. And I see other translators that does save the URL too. Going to the DOI is just a bad idea if you just want to have a look at the abst…

@aurimas: I did not see the image until now. I looked at the old place, but there is nothing there. And there is nothing in the new place. But why not place it in the old place? I see no reason to just leave it empty. That just makes it harder …

The one right above my answer, i.e. enable PDF attachments.
-
Unfortunately that did not work for me now in the standalone Zotero (with Google Chrome).
-
@aurimas: Will that add the link to Pubmed?? ;-)
-
@aurimas: I use to save the article from Pubmed for four reasons: 1) The tags they add there. It is more uniform. 2) The abstract is often more readable there. You can see it from a mobile too. 3) You have a link to the original artic…

A long discussion. I really need to save the Pubmed URL in the Zotero entry. Do I have to do this by hand or will it be readded? When was this change introduced, i.e. when was the Pubmed URL removed? (I have to go through old entries and fix th…
-
Thanks Gracile. I see. I agree with Michael there that Pubmed URL:s are really necessary.
-
Hm, my fault. After refreshing the Pubmed page too it works now. (I thought I did that.) Thanks Dan and adamsmith.
-
Thanks for the suggestion, adamsmith. I just tried, but it did not help.
-
I see, thanks adamsmith. I really hope to see it soon and I am sorry I can't help to implement it now.

Very nice.
