This is interesting. Their most recent publications have doi listed for all pubs. Even those with page numbers. Maybe I am missing something. Here is an example: https://www.asmscience.org/content/journal/jmbe/10.1128/jmbe.v21i2.2015

I am a little confused though. All of the papers coming from all of those journals have the DOI, but the authors guide page still does not. https://journals.physiology.org/author-info.manuscript-composition#EXAMPLE REFERENCES

Absolutely! I checked the Endocrinology and Metabolism, Cell Physiology, Heart and Circulatory System, and Gastrointestinal and Liver Phys. branches. They are all the same format, with DOI appended to the end of the current Zotero format
