@kavana Could you send me an invite as well?

Thanks. Unfortunately the delay in Jurism updates is a recurring issue. Jurism is currently on Zotero 6.0.22 which was released on 22 February 2023, so no updates in the last eight months. At my institution, we rely on Jurism; it’s fine if it’s a fe…

Thank you, that works indeed!

Thanks for the response. I did see this dialog the first time but I chose OK. Afterwards, it never showed up again. In macOS System Settings, Zotero is listed under Privacy -> Automation, but there’s only an option for “System Events”, not for “…

Yes, Report ID is 2006238858.

I tried Zotero 7 but I didn’t manage to let it play with Word. I reinstalled Zotero manually, deleted extensions.json, reinstalled the plugin, manually copied over Zotero.dotm, changed the languages of Zotero and Word to English, rebooted my compute…

@bensonchen see https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/411357 for the same discussion.

@dstillman I restarted my computer and tried it out. When Zotero is the only app running, it uses about 600 MB RAM. However, if I open a few PDFs, the memory usage skyrockets, even a tiny PDF increases memory usage by 300 MB, bigger files use more. …

I’m having the same issue: I have a M1 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM and Zotero uses 3.5GB RAM, slowing down my computer. Due to Zotero, Activity Monitor shows yellow memory pressure. I do have a big library though (over 1,000 items and many large PDFs)…

@dstillman I am running Jurism, but it hasn’t been updated since 5.0.93. Does that mean updating to macOS 12.3 will break Jurism? (Assuming the beta 2 issue will still exist in the final version of macOS 12.3.)

If anyone would have the same question: I have been using Jurism on macOS Monterey for a few days now and I didn’t run into any new issues, so it seems safe to update!

Thanks!

This will be something for Monterey, see https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/91884/extension-zotero-sur-safari-mac-m1

@dstillman the article says “ this bug is fixed in macOS Monterey and hope to release the Zotero Connector for Safari with the production version of Zotero when Monterey ships in fall 2021”. Will this be a Monterey only thing, or do you mean it is f…

I reported this as well: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/91198

In my experience, Zotero is quite slow on Mac in general. The “tricks” I use are: 1. Split the document in chapters. 2. Turn off automatic citations updates. 3. After you open a document, you need patience with the first reference you add. The rest…

There doesn’t seem to be much activity around Juris-M lately, it hasn’t been updated since 5.0.93 (Zotero is now on 5.0.96) and for the last few days downloading or updating the app has not been possible, not sure why. Personally I also don’t reall…

@dstillman sorry for digging up this old thread, but you said Zotero will add native M1 support “sometime next year” which is 2021. Is there any timeline on this? While performance under Rosetta is fine, Zotero has been the only Intel app remaining…

@dstillman thank you for the response. I use the Mac App Store for Microsoft Office so I don't know how to downgrade. Anyway, as soon as this is fixed I won't run Word in Rosetta mode anymore of course. And I do understand making a universal binary…

I have had the same issue, and it is solved by running Word in Rosetta mode as mentioned above. Even then, though, it doesn't run quite as well as it did under Intel. Sometimes it just doesn't seem to work anymore and I have to restart Word and Zote…

Ah thanks, I though Zotero updates are immediately implemented in Jurism as well. (I have Jurism 5.0.93, but then I guess it's not equivalent to Zotero 5.0.93)

I am running Juris-M on Big Sur now and while it works perfectly, I did come across some graphical glitches. I use the Dutch language version, I don't know if the same happens in other languages and if it also happens in the Zotero client. 1. The s…
