What happens if you use "is not" instead of "does not contain" ?
-
So it doesn't give you an exact path location where it can't find the linked PDF file ? In that case it's possible that you may have set a Linked Attachment Base Directory on one computer but not all computers. You presumably know where the linked …

There is a version for Zotero 7. It's just still designated as 'pre-release', since it pre-dates the very recent official release of Zotero v7. Look in the list of all releases; take the one on the top. It has changed position in the Zotero PDF read…

OK, I understand your issue now. Attanger does not currently make the attachment title the same as the file name when the file is downloaded via the Zotero web connector. It does do so when right-click rename/move is used. That inconsistency may wel…
-
Does it tell you the exact path to where it thinks that file should be ? That is often the clue to solving the problem (along with where that particular file actually is located on that computer). In any case you need that information.
-
@nes34 what does the error message say ?
-
By "automatically" do you mean for PDFs downloaded by the Zotero web connector ? If so, can you see the downloaded PDF in local Zotero storage instead (right-click Show File) ? Have you also tried right-click Attachment Manager\Rename and Move Atta…

@Fontanapink webDAV ... Does work with the iOS app. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/112490/ios-with-webdav Does not work with the web library. https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/111546/will-the-web-library-support-webdav Will work with the…

@Fontanapink use Tools\Manage Attachments\Convert Linked Files to Stored Files. As long as you remain under your online storage quota and you have file syncing turned on, your attachment files will be synced to the web library, across computers, and…

Considerable progress has apparently been made towards a v7-compatible version of Zutilo ... https://github.com/wshanks/Zutilo/issues/248

TBH I'm not that familiar with Calibre. ;) I did look up the way it creates folder locations for each individual book (which makes Zotero links a little more complex than if every book were in a single folder). The video is basically correct though…
-
As long as the Calibre folder structure is under the Zotero LABD parent folder, everything should at least work (ie Zotero will find linked files you ask it to open) ... as long as files stay in the sub-folder in which they were originally added to …
-
Firstly, you don't have the same "base directory". The Onedrive folders you listed have a different path. So I assume you have a Linked Attachment Base Directory set on each computer (in Zotero preferences), to those different parent paths for linke…

You can just select items in the main Zotero library pane and drag them to a single folder in your OS. You should get just the PDFs there.

It sounds like you know your way round Windows and Zotero. So it's possible that you could be hitting a new bug, where the new profile folder is not being created. In which case you would need to describe your exact steps to reproduce it, so that it…

For those who prefer the old way they experienced with Zotfile and/or Rename File From Parent Metadata, see also from the devs: "As we've said repeatedly, we're going to add the option to display the filename in the items list instead of the attachm…

You actually want field codes set to ON, not unchecked as you stated ... so that you can see if/where your document has the ZOTERO_BIBL field code (and all your live citations' field codes) that Zotero inserts for a bibliography (the above link desc…

That's a nice visualization. It would probably be of most use to Zotero users with some experience, as a summary of things that they mostly know .... but also capabilities that they haven't come across. The "I never knew you could do that" phenomeno…

A new profile is usually associated with a new, different library, so the sentence in the docs "If you see your existing data directory in the new profile, create a new data directory manually..." is correct - you should *not* generally see the data…
-
@nes34 the (Onedrive) locations of your *existing* linked PDF attachment files are already stored in the Zotero database. If you disabled Zotfile (under Zotero v6), they would still be located by Zotero when you ask it to open them. That does not re…

@aramanijam it's not clear which of the two methods I outlined above you are using. So it's not exactly clear where you're hitting a problem. In the first method (2nd last para), your linked-file PDF attachment remains in its cloud folder all alon…

Use join=" & " within the double brackets for creators/authors. https://www.zotero.org/support/file_renaming#customizing_the_filename_format

The zotero-reference plugin does that. Either by text-parsing the paper's reference list directly, or API lookup at Crossref (for journal papers deposited there). It puts the list in a new References pane, and checks by DOI for which references are …

If you just want a separate Zotero library for your sheet music collection (with syncing turned OFF), you can set up a separate profile. You would then append -P to the shortcut that starts Zotero in your OS, which will allow you to select which pro…

The location of your *existing* linked PDFs is already stored in your Zotero database, so there is no danger to those in migrating to Zotero v7 (without Zotfile). As in your screenshot, that location is the Custom Location folder specified in Zotfil…

Use both. And saved searches. Different knowledge domains may need different approaches. Be aware of "collection bloat" though, where you end up with dozens or even 100s of collections, where it can be hard to find items you want ... buried somewhe…

@samanthaculp Zotmoov's "Move to Selected Directory" is just the equivalent of Zotfile's right-click Rename&Move (which moves a PDF to Zotfile's Custom Location folder). Zotmoov's "Directory To Move Files to" (same as Custom Location folder) is…

Have you reached your online file storage quota ? https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage If not, and file syncing is not working for you, see https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/files_not_syncing

The Zoplicate plugin gives you those options. When it detects a likely duplicate it shows a simple interface where you can choose between all possible options: Keep New: Set the new item as the master item and merge the duplicates. Keep Old:…
