If you have your files organized in folders on your file system, try this add-on: https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-folder-import The related discussion is here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/81329/create-zotero-library-using-disk-directo…

You could also try using Zutilo's "Copy attachment paths" function for copying the file paths in your Zotero database. It works on a selection of parent items in the middle pane of the user interface.
-
Sorry for the oversight. Maybe replacing Zotero.Attachments.LINK_MODE_LINKED_FILEwith Zotero.Attachments.LINK_MODE_IMPORTED_FILE in the relevant Zutilo code might work.
-
You could try to use the Zutilo add-on for this, see here and here. With "replace all instances" checked, the "Modify attachment paths" function should allow, e.g., replacing all spaces with underscores in Zotero's database. Some people have experie…

Thanks for fixing this!

If the "Comment" is coming from the arxiv.org website, the Extra field could be named "arXiv Comment:", similar to the "arXiv:" field for the arXiv ID. (I'm not sure whether this would exclude the field from CSL exports.) I would also prefer arXiv …

@dstillman: Sorry, this was meant as a personal recommendation to a fellow user. It's certainly not something I would give as general advice. I had experienced similar performance issues a year ago and was able to solve them that way. By getting ri…

You could create a saved search for your notes. Try a search with [Item Type] [is] [Note]. See also here for an example: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/82079/advanced-saved-search-for-notes

I would recommend clearing your Full-Text Cache once in order to reduce the size of your Zotero database. In the Search preferences, press the "Clear Index…" button, then select "Clear All Except Web Links", since those can't be rebuilt. This could …

If you want to use journal abbreviations in ZotFile's file renaming function, you need to look into using its user-defined wildcards. You can find some related discussions here and here. ZotFile's user-defined wildcards now offer a proper abbreviat…

@juliemorris: You should try to provide steps to reproduce the issue. As adamsmith writes, your observation might be unrelated to importing a RIS file. BTW, did you uncheck the option "Automatically tag items with keywords and subject headings"? See…
-
@andrea.dibiagio: See here for a BBT postscript that allows customizing the entry type for arXiv preprints in Better BibTeX exports.
-
If you move your Zotero library to a different computer, you might also want to keep a copy of your profile directory. Your preferences are saved to the 'prefs.js' file. For more on this, see here: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/74452/how-to-…

See here: https://www.zotero.org/support/locate. For some related options, see here.
-
There's a common ISBN listed for both items: 1552662810. Maybe this is causing the issue.
-
I don't think that there's a generally recommended entry type for arXiv preprints in BibTeX or BibLaTeX, see here: https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/429140. You might need to choose it depending on the style you use or by following guidelines of a pub…

@faustfisher: It seems like you are advised to look at this: https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage_classic#suppress_authorsusing_authors_in_the_text

Here is a related discussion about saving web pages as pdf: https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/81185/feature-request-optionally-save-web-pages-as-pdf-and-a-list-of-tools-that-might-help One option is to use ZotFile's "Attach New File" function fo…

@plantarum: The Zutilo add-on provides a "Show attachment paths" function that might be useful for troubleshooting your issue. It shows you the attachment path that is stored in the zotero.sqlite database, see here and here. Are you using the offic…
-
@talestomaz: Only the first paper is open-access. Maybe there was some related issue with the second paper. In case there's an issue like this, you could use Zutilo's keyboard shortcuts for ZotFile's renaming function, see here.
-
@dstillman: Yes, by "use stored files" I meant: use ZotFile's option "Attach stored copy of file(s)" for "Location of Files". With this, ZotFile can be used for renaming stored files, without moving them out of Zotero's storage. @Milleras: It seems…
-
You should use stored files if you want the files to remain in Zotero's storage directory.
-
@Milleras: If you're using ZotFile's "Custom Location" option, the custom folder should not be left empty. It sounds like this might be causing your issue. For a basic explanation of ZotFile's "Custom Location" setting, see here: https://guides.lib…

Here are some more specific questions. Information on the issue: 1. Can you provide the Juris-M and Zutilo versions that you were using? 2. Do you remember whether you clicked the "replace all instances" check box? 3. You wrote that the links "u…

There's an earlier discussion about the same issue. I'm wondering whether the use of the substr function could be problematic (here) in combination with backslashes, but I'm not sure. @moebio: Could you provide as much information as possible about…

is there any way to disable the quotation marks This should be possible, see here. Try to remove the double quotes in the preferences formatAnnotationHighlight and formatAnnotationUnderline (here).

Here are some tests on Windows for using the "Modify attachment paths" function on linked files stored with absolute paths. You can see that you can mess up your paths. But it's working as expected, given the flexibility of the tool. modify partial…
-
Zutilo's "Modify attachment paths" function is very flexible, so it should be used carefully. Before using this function, remember to back up your Zotero data. Here, your main concern should be the zotero.sqlite database file. (Zotero also keeps aut…

@moebio: I couldn't reproduce your error with the missing first character. Were you working with files in the Linked Attachment Base Directory? Do you remember your old and new partial paths? It might be possible to grab the first characters or the…

BTW, Zutilo's "Copy select item links" function can help with getting the itemKey. You could also just compare the itemKey used in your markdown files with the itemKey in your extracted annotations. If the itemKey is erroneous, you could check wheth…
