@Gitty K: I haven't tried the feature in OOo, so I can't say how reliable it is. The Word one isn't reliable, and that doesn't have much to do with Zotero-- it just doesn't work well. If the OOo feature works for you, use it! I don't think there are…

It really should be possible to create separate files, then simply copy and paste to form the completed document. Just make sure that you are using the same Zotero client, or at least synchronized clients, to create all the files, and it should wor…

It should work, as far as I know. Does Iceweasel usually have special compatibility issues?

For books, the Library of Congress is often the best source of metadata. Amazon is often missing basic data, simply because they are in the book-selling business and not the book-describing business.
-
You could also use the RTF scan feature to work with it, but there isn't and won't likely ever be a plugin for Works.

It would be nice if someone posted pre-alpha compiled plugins for wider experimentation. I understand if the core team doesn't want to officially do so until they are a little more mature, but it would be great if an enterprising person posted a wor…

See http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/browse_thread/thread/638c87b36327d93 for details. I haven't tried it myself, so I can't really be of much help.

As I posted on the other thread: The problem here is that the university library has decided to not expose a MARC or Export link. The only way to export records in a computer-readable format is to mark several records for export and download an RIS …

Yes. I haven't finished the fix yet, but I managed to get item pages working and the rest should come together quickly enough.

The backup is in your Zotero data directory. The "s" you don't need is on "connectors". It should be "connector".

I didn't realize that the РНБ was supported by Zotero -- great news! That said, the mis-feature you refer to can be turned off. Type about:config in your address bar and enter extensions.zotero.capitalizeTitles into the search bar. Double-click the…

That page works fine for me. Make sure that you have the most recent version of Zotero and update your translators from within the Zotero preferences.

It looks like I had somehow committed only part of my patch. I've committed the full version, which, as noksagt pointed out in two threads today, works for a good many catalogs and doesn't seem to break anything anywhere. That patch, however, didn't…

I've committed the fixed translator. It seems that I had committed a version that was missing part of the fix. Thanks to noksagt for pointing out that the committed version was incomplete. The updated version should go out some time relatively soon.

Can you provide specific details of how to replicate this? It sounds like a proxy bug in Zotero or a misconfigured proxy server. In either case, we'll need more detail to understand what exactly is happening.

I ran into this again and decided that the RIS output isn't much better (or, it may be worse). The WorldCat RIS doesn't include diacritical marks, so I'd rather use the COinS. Zotero supports using multiple authors in COinS, as I discovered while w…

Maybe. That wouldn't really be a new, big feature. But then again, not everyone in the Zotero community monitors the trac commit timeline, so my standards of "new" are probably not universal. It's too much to expect Sean and Dan to have been running…

In that case, this must be something that hasn't yet been released. Hold tight-- maybe this is the big announcement due tomorrow. Although I'd like to see something, well, bigger. Something that would make Zotero better at its core feature set.

Judging from the present content of the front page, it looks like something is in place for mobile browsers (http://www.zotero.org/static/images/index/features/browse-from-mobile-devices.png). Does this not show up when you view your library?

I suppose I was thinking only of the Zotero forums. Hopefully this doesn't lose too many people in the confusion of a migration. It will be nice to have the localization part of the community in closer contact with the rest of the people involved in…

After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to find the Zotero page, I finally discovered the terse announcement in the discussion thread that Zotero had been removed from Babelzilla and was moving to a different translation infrastructure. Is this real…

Make sure that the versions of Zotero and Firefox you have installed inside Parallels (the Windows copy of Firefox) and outside it (the Mac OS X copy of Firefox) are the same. If they are, try updating translators in both copies. Finally, post any …

1. Drag and drop on Linux is mainly or completely broken. 2. Make sure you have the pdf libraries installed -- see the Zotero preferences. 3. Provide a URL 4. This sounds like something incompatible is installed. Try disabling all Firefox extensions…

That will need to be looked into. The first is a journal table of contents, which might just not be properly supported, but we may be able to add support. The second really should work and I'll see if I can't get it working.

As Zotero syncs to the cloud it shouldn't be impossible to develop clients that write to that database? It should be possible, but only once an API with write access is documented / developed.
-
It is sometimes useful for importing data from certain formats that Zotero does not support.

The metadata is synced to the Zotero server no matter what you do. Metadata syncing is free and unlimited. File syncing can be done by WebDAV or Zotero File Storage -- the latter has a 100 MB free allowance. WebDAV is a simple protocol that only re…

Perhaps it is trying to connect to share or access group libraries? You will still need your Zotero.org credentials regardless, since metadata syncing is still done with Zotero.org. Only the attachements (PDFs and such) are synced via WebDAV.
