The connectors don't yet support some of the embedded data translators (not site-specific). Thus, anything that relies on the COinS, unAPI, or DOI translators will not work in Standalone yet.
-
The Wiley articles with the apple-hyphens are because Wiley is feeding bad data to the CrossRef database (which powers the DOI service). You can see the broken character here. Please notify Wiley. Note also that the hyphen on the pages is actually a…

When you access the doi.org page via your proxy, do you have a different URL?
-
Does this notification show up the same way in standard Zotero? The PDF issue sounds like it has to do with file types that Standalone (and the XULRunner instance it runs on) thinks it can handle; it probably doesn't know about DejaVu, so it calls …
-
But note that Zotero now can exist as a tab, in the most recent Zotero beta. Perhaps this is a step that brings Zotero-the-sidebar closer, but I don't know for sure.
-
If you use the multilingual Zotero, you can specify languages for both headline entries and romanizations (transliterations of all sorts). Citeproc-js should be able to take advantage of this and order names correctly. I do encourage you to take the…

It's an alpha release. This is coming. No one is being told to use the current standalone as a full replacement for traditional Zotero, not yet.
-
This is always driven by how it needs to be cited and what data you need to keep. Can you provide example citations and fields that you'd need? In most cases, one of the existing types can do the trick.
-
Can you break the RIS file into smaller pieces and try to isolate a particular entry that is triggering this? Usually this is caused by malformed RIS or BibTeX, and sometimes from bugs in Zotero's import translators.
-
You need to click on the text "URL" next to the address in the info pane.
-
Please provide specific URLs that work intermittently, so we can look into it.
-
A future release of standalone will definitely have an icon. In the meantime, maybe you could make one from artwork on the Zotero site? Or the devs could post something?
-
Thanks for finding the examples-- I'll look into these and see what can be done.
-
It will, soon enough. You can also use view options in the search results at top left to display results in Pubmed XML, select all and copy. Then use "Import from Clipboard" in the Zotero gear menu to import. That should be somewhat faster than savi…

You should be able to check the entries you want, then go to "Send to" at the bottom of the search results, select "File" and set the format to XML. Save the file somewhere, then import it using the Import... entry in the gear menu in Zotero.
-
Not working for me either. Please do see if you can work out what's wrong, and feel free to post here or on the development list (http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev/) if you run into any trouble.
-
@adamsmith: They import fine for me in the latest multilingual build. Did 2.0.9 get the most recent updates for the Highwire translator? What is the last modified date in the Highwire 2.0.js file?
-
What version of Zotero are you using? This works for me.

The data that Primo produces for articles doesn't look so hot; see this example of RIS for one such article. I suppose that's something, but it's pretty bad. The comment about articles seems to be about the fact that Primo doesn't provide its propr…
-
I'm not sure what that comment is referring to. Can you provide a URL for an article in Primo that I can use for testing? There seems to be a generic RIS option in all Primo installations, and I looked into connecting to it. Since it's the same thi…

Ok-- the code is getting a little stale. I'll take a look and see what's gone wrong with it.
-
This is part of the Zotero Everywhere initiative (http://www.zotero.org/blog/zoteros-next-big-step/), but I don't know the timeline.
-
2.1b5 appears to be in the pipeline-- it was tagged in the repository and even seems to be available at http://www.zotero.org/download/zotero-2.1b5.xpi -- but maybe that's not the final version of 2.1b5, so you may want to wait for an announcement.

My opinion is split-- good Embedded RDF might well be superb data. Most embedded RDF is a hodge-podge of very simple Dublin Core terms that people only rarely are looking for. It would be bad if an RDF-ful site was being read by DOI instead. Again,…
-
But note that this is the same version that you already downloaded from Github. It does not address the slow imports that this thread is nominally about, it just provides a new way of importing Pubmed data.
-
After some more testing, I've committed the revised translator to the repository. As Dan notes, performance gains are only expected with the resolution of ticket #1762.
-
This is fixed in the trunk and should work in the next Zotero beta (2.1b5).
-
No solutions yet, except to use the Firefox add-on. These major issues will be fixed in the coming releases of the connectors.
-
I still stand by my comments in http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/10745/ -- incompatibility with _all_ personas is something that needs to be fixed, either within Zotero or within Firefox. Can anyone comment on whether other add-ons are similarly…

Since our terribly modest fbennett won't come out and say it, I'll point out that a very large portion of those thousand hours was contributed by Frank Bennett, the most dedicated hacker of a law professor I've ever not met in person. And multilingu…
