Yes, but newspaper articles on websites should be cited using rules for newspaper articles, not the general rules for websites. Forum posts should be cited using rules for forum posts, etc.
-
Newspaper articles in Zotero don't have a publisher field. As far as I know, MLA doesn't require that the you include the publisher for newspaper articles (unlike, say, books).
-
No, there is no way to drag or otherwise add a directory. You should be able to select the contents of a directory and drag it into a Zotero collection.

We do have a general Blogger translator, and a general Wordpress translator (Livejournal, etc) could be done pretty easily. I wrote the Chronicle translator, and I'll look into fixing the blogs support-- it did work at one point.

Looks like adamsmith and I returned to the forums at the same time. Needless to say, I agree with him completely.
-
I'm not a Windows tech support expert by any means, but the Windows built-in firewall is, as far as I know, wholly sufficient for most people's needs.

You'll want to unsubscribe through Zotero.org. I think you can double-click on the library name in the Zotero pane and the group page will open in Firefox. You can then choose to unsubscribe from/ leave the group.

Glad this worked for you. The problem is that some security software is very aggressive and can break some of the ways that programs talk to each other; the programs are usually pretty obstinate and opaque, so it's not always easy to get them to all…

Ok. I'll commit this version to the repository to be included in the next beta of 2.1.
-
And apparently the problem I'm seeing is that jQuery isn't being included when I'm logged. It works for me too-- so long as I'm logged out. I'm using the WordPress 3.1 release candidate.

I can help with PHP if you get stuck, and the Zotero sync server is all PHP, so the core devs may be able to give some hints if we can't make this work. A high-quality WordPress plugin that doesn't hammer the API would be a great thing.

I believe what jmhuculak did was disable or remove the Mac Word integration from the Add-Ons window in Firefox.
-
Oops. Looks like you got there first.
-
Fixed in SVN and confirmed to address the connector issue.
-
It appears Claus is still using the old version of the translator as well, which breaks when JSTOR uses DOIs as JSTOR IDs. I just committed the updated version.
-
Can you replicate this in a new document?
-
Can you see if this still happens if you open Standalone after closing Firefox? It sounds like the integrations ports are conflicting.
-
That address redirects to a /pss/ address, which works for me. Please create debug output and an error ID as described above and post the ids here. Core devs: Can you please let me know what error these two users are seeing? Perhaps there is indeed…

My citations won't load: http://www.gimranov.com/avram/w/archives/60 There are two Zotpress tags, for two different individual items. I looked at the code for the first time, and I wonder if it wouldn't be better to initiate the Zotero API call fro…

Hmm. Looks like we're being more aggressive than we need to be. A new version for 2.1 beta is at the address above. If you're using 2.0.9, let me know and I'll fix it as well.

What did those characters look like in the RIS file you exported from Endnote? Were they normal " characters, or were they character entities like & quot;?

That's Simon. Dan is Dan Stillman (not to be confused with Dan Cohen, director of the whole project). See http://www.zotero.org/about/ and http://chnm.gmu.edu/staff/
-
Oh, I'm glad to help. But it's not me that's doing the core development; I just patch up little things here and there, and post on the forums. Dan and Simon are the main people coding the vast majority of Zotero in all its forms.
-
Thanks for catching that. Mentions of Firefox are part of the polish improvements that are happening right now. Good eye.
-
Yes, your answers are what we need to know. I'm hoping that our resident legal scholar will tell me how to handle this, but he's, as far as I know, still discussing new item types with Islam Karimov in Tashkent. You haven't been forgotten.

I think that even small tricks in the basic save page function are not a good idea. I think that we can extend our current site translators to save from more sites-- I'm working on that now. I'm also hoping that we'll get some simplifications for s…

When I move to progress-bar-enabled versions of Zotero myself, I'll look into it. Until then-- I'm glad to hear all is working for you now.
-
"(though it starts twice)" What?

That does make it a little more difficult, although the button is of only very limited utility with the preference off (I suppose it makes a basic bookmark-like record).
