That seems quite reasonable. There used to be a separate Create Snapshot of Current Page function, with the cheesy camera icon, but that was eliminated when the decision was made to get rid of web page snapshots without parent items. Now that the me…
-
The difference in function is intentional-- Create New Item from Current Page reliably takes a simple snapshot. Translators sometimes break, sometimes they save the current page, sometimes they save other related pages (PDFs, etc.). Both are useful …

If anyone has a chance to try the importer with tagged bookmarks or major collections, please post here. I would like to put this in the repository, but I need more confirmations that it works, especially since I restructured the import in order to …

I should also mention that the plugin is very slick. I definitely did not expect such an elegant little tool!

Would it be possible to cache individual citation data? I've added a couple of citations using [zotpress item_key="..."], but they take a very long time to load. When the user sets a specific item ID, or perhaps in all cases, it would be nice if Zot…

But the Zotero Everywhere project should include modifying things through the website. Hopefully that will include nice things like drag-and-drop. The website portion of Everywhere has no announced timeline.
-
I gathered the information about the Firefox breakage and fixes by following the commit timeline (https://www.zotero.org/trac/timeline). Very interested people could do that as well, but keep in mind that that info is really not very user-oriented.
-
I think that LibreOffice 3.2 should work, and the 3.3 issue is apparently just a matter of setting the right path for Zotero to find it. But maybe someone with first-hand experience can chip in here.

Versions at Github now updated to use text2html. Please test.

And the existing logic in RIS.js makes even less sense if unescapeHTML strips HTML-- so the translator first replaces newlines with HTML line breaks, then strips out the HTML line breaks and replaces them with newlines? Oh, well. @mcsugarfree: Plea…

For people using 2.0.9: http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/RIS-2.0.9.js Save it as "RIS.js" to the translators directory.
-
Yes-- I should note that it's a 2.1-formatted translator. Hold on and I'll get you one for 2.0.9.
-
Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/RIS.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). Try importing again. I may have been too aggressive in mai…

Oh. Well, that does it! I thought it just unescaped HTML entities.
-
This isn't happening in the translator. The only HTML-related code is:if (Zotero.Utilities.unescapeHTML) { value = Zotero.Utilities.unescapeHTML(value.replace("\n", " ", "g")); }(at the beginning of processTag(..). No cleaning of HTML tags a…

2.1b6, due out soon, will address some major issues in the newest Firefox beta.
-
But in the meantime, I'd still like to see what Endnote's notes look like in RIS, so that I can tweak the translator correctly.
-
We could provide a utility function that handles conversion, so that translator authors can just call it when they know it'll be needed.
-
Can you post an example record with such a note so I can see exactly how Endnote formats them? I don't have a copy to test with.
-
I suppose so. Time to go diving into RIS.js again. See you on the other side.
-
As I've said, you won't be able to maintain the formatting when exporting as RIS, since Endnote. It should be possible to copy and paste the note contents into Zotero and maintain formatting. I know that that sounds horribly slow, but I don't know …
-
Hmm. I thought that the slide had the plugins feeding into standard Zotero as well. Well, add a line from them to the Firefox icon, and that's what you should keep in mind.
-
See #2 on this page http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
-
Yes, that's what I'm suggesting. If you prefer Chrome for your normal web browsing, you can keep using it, and install the Zotero extension. It has to send its citations somewhere -- usually to the standalone Zotero. The standalone isn't that polish…

What version of Zotero? What version of Firefox? What operating system? Do any ISBNs work? Can you provide an error report ID?
-
No, it's pretty much guaranteed that non-Unicode accommodations like that just aren't going to happen. In the long run, you are certainly better off using real Unicode. Publishers that are still using these fonts are slowly moving to Unicode, and if…
-
Yes, that is for the database. Syncing between 2.0.9 and the 2.1 betas / standalone is fine.
-
Zotero is probably your best bet for legal citation, since making legal citation work properly is one of the core goals of the law professor who is the lead developer of the citation engine for Zotero. The problem here is just that Word's bibliogra…

Can you post this to the old thread? Particularly for a forgotten issue like this, it's good to keep discussion in one place. Also, please post to that thread a single item listing in RIS that triggers the issue.
-
Correct. DOI detection will be coming, but isn't implemented yet in the Chrome & Safari extensions.
