@fbennett: Can you look at Philippe's comment above and make the appropriate suggestions in the issue tracker based on these legal citation requirements?
-
Fixed in trunk. This should probably be pushed out to 2.1 beta users if possible, since it breaks JSTOR.
-
I like these suggestions. Maybe we can make this happen for 2.1, as a little polish improvement?

The translators not working in Chrome/Safari are those that do not specify specific target sites, but rather inspect every page for useful metadata. The way things work now, the entire source of potential matches has to be send to Standalone for pro…

Would item copy + paste within Zotero be possible to implement? It would address the issue here, I think.
-
Perhaps you could create debug output for a sync attempt on the computer where they do reside? Maybe there's some access error happening (although I think that would trigger an error of some sort that Zotero would tell you about). And these are not…

I haven't yet worked with Firefox 4 -- I'll look into this.

If you identify a catalog that gives mangled non-English data, open a new discussion for it. It's certainly an encoding issue, and we can fix it for that catalog.
-
I'm a vim person, but there you can do =G with the cursor at the top of the file.
-
I think it should be. I understand that we don't want to allow wholesale X-Referrer forgery, but this seems fairly honest. When I have some time tonight, I can try doing exactly that with curl.
-
Fixed. The translator was extremely fragile-- I'm surprised it worked this long. But it's working again now. Please go to https://www.zotero.org/trac/export/8239/extension/trunk/translators/PEP Web.js and save the file to the translators directory …

After I suggested adding a list of collection memberships to the fairly sparsely populated "Related" pane, the developer of the Zotfile plugin added a new contextual menu item that lists all the collection memberships for the selected item. I still…

I just looked into fixing PDFs, and it looks like they check the referrer header and won't let Zotero see the PDF. This isn't that uncommon-- but I don't think the translator infrastructure lets us set such headers yet, so I don't think I can do any…

And adamsmith's advice is completely correct.
-
The Zotero 2.1 betas are completely compatible.
-
No, it's still broken. I would like to get to this, but I haven't yet.
-
Sean has user ID 3.

The most recent beta of Zotero 2.1 includes a new extensible locate engine system [kindly contributed by the developers at Pubget], and it should be possible to set it up to look up articles in CrossRef with one click. It still won't populate the DO…

Bruce was fine with the "source" variable, and he wasn't terribly concerned with how we called it in the Zotero UI.
-
I've been experimenting some, and I think that we could manage to ship a version of gocr with Zotero, much like the pdfinfo libraries, to provide at least basic OCR to get a full-text index for images and PDFs. Obviously not for Zotero 2.1, but mayb…

@adamsmith: That's pretty much the conclusion we had already reached in the type review: https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/issues#issue/8
-
So you'd like for it to be possible to have related items include collections/folders? Not sure how easy this would be to implement, or how the interface would work (since related items are only selected in the middle pane, and collections don't app…

Can you give some example URLs?

See http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#component_loading_error1 Try those and post here.

And I think that the publisher for newspapers makes sense in general-- it should be mapped to "publisher" in CSL. It may not be shown for paper newspapers, but they have publishers too. (That is, I disagree with adamsmith on this point.)
-
Yes, I think we should just map Library Catalog to a new "source" field, add Publisher to newspaper/journal/magazine, and this will work fine.
-
This would be rather easy to do with the desktop version of Zotero, at least for books. ISBNs can be entered into the magic wand already. Once the API gets write access, and the website allows the entry of new items (perhaps even including ISBN loo…

My turn to report an issue. Now in Zotpress 2.2, in the Citations tab of the Zotpress preferences, I get:Warning: DOMDocument::loadXML() [domdocument.loadxml]: Empty string supplied as input in /[snip]/wp-content/plugins/zotpress/zotpress.default.ph…

I know it's not something you can change. I generally focus on data import, workflow, and things like that here. There are style experts here on the forum who can help figure out how to fit this MLA requirement, and I'm sure something can be done. …
-
My god that's ridiculous. I'm going to stay out of style discussions from now on, at least until the people writing them get their heads screwed on straight. I'll let those who actually live and breathe styles pick up the conversation from here. No…
