If you're using the latest version of standalone (3.0b2, IIRC) and the connector, you should be able to right-click on any page to save it to Zotero, even when there isn't a translator.

The core devs are usually on top of this; my guess is that the current trunk builds (the future 3.5) work already. Zotero will definitely work on Fx 10 before it comes out, and probably before it goes to beta.

No need to install Zotero 3.0b2 if Zotero 2.1.10 fixes it for you. Zotero 2.0 is outdated and no longer receives translator updates, so many things may not work with it.

Well, you could still encrypt the contents of the records client-side. But anyone with that serious of security concerns should be looking into a local Zotero dataserver as well.

Yes-- Zotero requires that the files be stored in a directory called "zotero". So you can have /files/zotero and /files-wife/zotero, but not /files/zotero and /files/zotero-wife.

Creative Commons. The styles are primarily licensed under the CC-BY-SA license. Zotero needs some sort of license declaration by the creator, or else it doesn't have any legal basis for distributing someone else's work.

Exactly. MARC doesn't make this distinction. That means that MARC-derived MODS, like on the LCCN page adamsmith provides, can't do so either (although born-MODS data can include explicit roles).
