This shouldn't be happening-- I'll see if I can pin down the cause. By the way, there is a group of researchers working on a complete RTL overhaul of Zotero; they're focusing on Farsi, but the work could presumably improve Hebrew support as well.

If I write a z39.50 translator, we could use it to essentially add any major library or database to the current lookup system, which only uses OpenSearch at present (and OpenSearch is not a major standard for the library world).

The Y2 entry is invalid-- the field should have a secondary date of some sort, and ")" is not legit. I'm always amazed at how bad EndNote's RIS export is, considering that it was developed as part of Refman, now part of the same parent company.

No, COinS wouldn't do it. If your code is pretty easy to generalize, I'm sure the Omeka folks would be happy to see it posted somewhere for others to use when they need a solution more robust than COinS.
