Firefox 4 final is also just around the corner, so soon pretty much everyone will be making the switch. Still, file indexing is probably not incredibly urgently needed (and if it is, you can just rename the files to things like "12314.pdf") for your…

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but it does sound like it would be useful. I think you can change the category of your post by editing the initial post-- feel free to move this to the Feature Requests area. Disabling spellcheck for specific…

If you're interested in troubleshooting this, you'll have to be more specific. I can say with confidence that in general the Standalone is working fine for a good many people. What have you done, what has happened, etc.?

A new BNF translator was developed back in October (https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/7021), and I think it should work. What version of Zotero are you using, and what page were you trying to save (post the URL here)?
-
Incidentally, I can search for "Ahman" in the Word Zotero plugin search box and it finds it fine. It's just in Zotero proper that A and Å aren't the same. Really!? The behavior really should be the same.

It seems to me that this would be really distracting to the reader, but I suppose this can be done. I think you could change Chicago Full Note pretty easily to make it entirely in-line.

This was just raised again: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/16534/ This is an issue that will hopefully only get worse-- the multilingual branch is all about encouraging/allowing people to be faithful to original data, so I anticipate seeing mo…

1. Can you not search for them because you can't type the characters, or does searching not work even if you do enter the correct characters? 2. I think this issue should be going away-- in fact I thought it had been dealt with and wasn't an issue f…

Split browser is known to be incompatible with Zotero. See http://www.zotero.org/support/known_issues#incompatible_extensions_and_applications

Are you using the master document function to combine them? I've heard bad things about its compatibility with Zotero, and about its stability in general. If not, I don't understand what you mean by linking versus inserting documents.
-
Make sure you set up an API key in the Feeds/API section of your account settings here at zotero.org.
-
How did you merge them? Can you confirm that the citations were editable in the several original documents?
-
First-- I'm fairly sure Zotero itself also knows nothing of that site. Did this happen with every PDF you tried to attach? This sounds like a malicious Firefox add-on, actually. Perhaps there was something that was fortunately disabled with the swi…

No, it is not accessible through any protocol apart from Zotero File Storage itself. Any individual file has a URL like http://www.zotero.org/groups/32562/items/FTC9C66D/file (an item in a private group, but the URLs are like this); that is, just ap…

Please open a new thread with the concerns from point 1; I have used Zotero successfully with citations in an Arabic script. Include the versions of Zotero, Zotero Word integration, and Word, the text you used, the expected citation, and what actual…

It's definitely the case that all citation software leaves some tweaking up to the user; indeed, citation isn't a completely rote activity that doesn't require thought and input from the user. As for the feature-completeness of Zotero, and how othe…

For previous discussion, see http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11561/ In that thread, I said:Well, the reason for this is that the author name in this and many Author-Date styles is often integrated into the grammar of the sentence, so it isn't qu…
-
You're right that this isn't the most elegant solution, but there has been extensive discussion of how else this might be done; the problem is that the author name is grammatically part of the sentence, which introduces a lot of limitations. It is j…

You'll need to use to check "suppress author" when inserting the citation, then type the author name manually.

I also explicitly added jQuery to my theme's header, since appeared to be missing for me.

My problems all disappeared when I deleted the old version and dropped the tables in MySQL, then reinstalled. Now it works for me!

Are all of these behaviors with the standard MLA style selected? Others may be able to give feedback on other issues here, but #6 is simply an MLA requirement in the most recent revision of the MLA style guide. I believe there is a style for the pr…

The IPC ticket has finally been closed, although it hasn't yet been rolled into Firefox. Code at http://hg.mozilla.org/ipccode/ -- not sure what we'd have to do to make this part of Zotero now.

Porting libzotero to Java is probably the best option here-- I don't mean to diminish the importance of Sebastiaan's work, but it could be rewritten relatively easily in any language that has strong Sqlite support. Indeed, creating similar libraries…

PHP already has the private key, because the user submitted and it's stored in the database. Anything the subrequest can do, the original request from the client can do itself. There's no reason your server-side code should be sending additional HTT…

One issue that bugs me about TinyMCE shortcuts is that they don't work if I'm using a non-Latin keyboard layout; in Firefox, I can do Ctrl-L (the QWERTY L key) even if I have a Cyrillic layout selected. In TinyMCE, I have to switch to a Latin layout…
