This was due to some changes in the MUSE site. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Project MUSE.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). I …

Confirmed. I'll see what I can do.
-
I think Alex wins the prize.
-
In the meantime, you can visit sunny Los Angeles and use Zotero from the libraries of UCLA. [Or, in my case, visit via VPN from the western periphery of the frozen, sunless Russian steppe.] I can't promise that there will be a post on this thread …

Well, LLBA through CSA Illumina works for me. We'll try to get the Proquest translators working again, and LLBA with it.

This is a known issue and I think it will be addressed before Standalone final. Since there's no browser window in Standalone, things like reports need to be reworked. The only fix at this point is to use standard Zotero in Firefox.
-
Since you're on a Mac, you could put the "storage" directory in Dropbox, and put a symlink to it in your Zotero data directory. See http://forums.dropbox.com/topic.php?id=5510 for discussion of how to use symlinks to make Dropbox more flexible on a …

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts, and all databases of Cambridge Science Abstracts, are currently supported. Please see http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues and post here. I don't have access to Linguistics Abs…

The data directory should be set to "/Users/MITH/Dropbox/My Research/zotero", not "/Users/MITH/Dropbox/My Research/zotero/storage". But note that putting the entire data directory in a Dropbox-synced location is dangerous if you will be accessing t…

An ISSN refers to a journal, not to a specific article. The Add Item by Identifier function doesn't handle ISSNs, since Zotero doesn't have a type for journals (as opposed to journal articles). For journal articles, you'll want to use a PubMed ID (…

The code is here and here. But as I already found, this is a binary component, and Zotero has so far managed to steer clear of binary components in the core product (except for the pdfinfo binaries and occasionally pythonext).
-
Operating-system integration: Binary components provided access to OS-specific features like shortcut creation and dock/tray icons. We intend to propose these extensions for inclusion in future versions of XULRunner. (https://developer.mozilla.org/e…

You'll probably have to change the permissions not for Firefox, but for the Microsoft Office Startup directory -- /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Startup/Word/ Make sure that your account can write there.
-
I think that (1) is being done already; in fact I thought it already was fixed in the most recent release. (2) isn't yet happening. Don't know what it would take to do that -- Standalone uses Mozilla's XULRunner. But you're definitely right that Sta…

The API key gives access to the resources that you have selected to expose to requests using that key. It is not be possible to expose saved files to clients from Zotero File Storage without exposing the key. The site visitor could then independentl…

Was it really broken that long? I'm surprised that Florian didn't notice it / mention it in the meantime. Still, apologies to all of our BNF patrons. Complain louder next time and I'll try to be more prompt.
-
Please post a sample journal article entry here -- there's probably something odd about the field choices.
-
I think that the way to handle something like this is via the existing unique id system for Zotero items -- have Zotfile (or something like it) export the file with a guaranteed unique name, like "Johnson, et al. - 2010 - The greenness of frogs ZID-…

To create a Report ID, select Report Errors from the gear menu. I'll see if I can replicate this.

I believe there are some people currently working on an Android client for Zotero; there has been discussion of the matter on zotero-dev, the development listserv. No timeline, but you're certainly not alone.
-
The discussion above ended up pointing to a very nasty issue with the way The Economist works, but in general you want to be very selective in your target regex in the JSON header and check for clear indicators of content (not just the URL) in the d…

I think that the interface could be pretty easily modified to handle other fields as well. For data standardization, journal names are an obvious candidate, while for navigation many of the fields, like date or library catalog, could be useful.
-
Can this be pushed? French-language banter on Twitter suggests that the fix is in high demand.
-
Please do let us know how it goes.
-
You'll have to redownload again from Github. An updated JSTOR translator was pushed to clients to address a different issue, and this was lost in the churn. The version on Github now once again has the code.
-
Fix committed to repository.

Please go to https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Bibliothèque nationale de France.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). Then reload the BNF page and…

There is a project to add an additional pane to the Zotero interface, listing all authors; click on an author and items with that author as a creator are shown. It allows you to select an author and rename it, which renames all instances of the auth…

Yeah-- I'm getting this in FF 4 and Zotero 2.1 beta as well. Looking into it.
-
I don't mean for you to exclude the text manually in that way, but if it possible for Zotero to prevent spell-checking automatically using that method, then we're set. We'd still have to be careful about prefixes and suffixes, which might contain us…
