Take a look at https://wiki.mozilla.org/XULRunner for some info -- but I'm not sure what implications it has for Standalone (an XULRunner application). I imagine that the information out there on setting up Firefox to put user profile data in a cus…

Can you provide examples of citations that include the special issue theme? That might help us determine how to deal with this situation.
-
The key thing is whether a page works in Zotero+Firefox but doesn't work in the connectory. IOP is currently not supported by Zotero at all. Can you give some APS and AIP example URLs?
-
Yes -- the logic is mainly in the JavaScript file. Glad this worked for you. Still, it sounds like there is a small issue if the window used to remember its size in Zotero 2.0.9, but doesn't any longer.
-
It's at /chrome/content/zotero/integration/addCitationDialog.xul.
-
No -- Zotero requires a lot of things that Firefox 3.0.x doesn't provide. You should be able to use Zotero standalone -- it doesn't require that anything be installed on the computer you use it on.
-
I still get the folder icon at that URL.
-
Hmm. That obviously isn't what I was expecting. This should be relatively straightforward with an Sqlite client-- but make sure that you close Firefox and backup zotero.sqlite before trying anything. I do hope that batch editing comes to Zotero soo…

So the problem is that the default is not being observed when the character encoding menu is not displayed. I do indeed see it when I enable it (oops..), and then the export proceeds correctly. But UTF-8 is the default, so I shouldn't have to show t…
-
This looks like a regression in Zotero 2.1 -- the export translator decomposes some characters (and mangles non-Latin!) when exporting to non-UTF-8 formats, but the default is UTF-8. It looks like the export charset option is not being observed corr…

Can you provide such a URL? It seems to work for me.

As I said, I'm pretty sure that what I suggest above will work to merge these libraries. The problem I see with importing date added is that imports come in all flavors-- how do we distinguish imports of data from colleagues from the data you just …

Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/NASA ADS.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). It should start working again. If this works for you,…

Your double-checking of whether data is on the server needn't mean checking every entry-- if you've just synced, and the author names are lowercase when you view your library online, then the data should come back in the right case when you do Resto…

And both machines have synced to the server? In that case you could double-check that all the data you need is on the server (and with correct caps) and do Reset->Restore from Server on the computer with the problem.
-
Zotero does map multiple instances of a single author name to a single entry within the database (iirc), so perhaps somehow an entry was saved with a capitalized name, which then forced the rest to all-caps? Not that I've ever seen that happen-- but…

Can you comment on what was wrong with the NYTimes regexes? Are capturing parentheses never OK?
-
And her name isn't capitalized in your Zotero library ("My Library")? Not sure how this could have happened, but does it go away if you fix her entries in your database?
-
We're running into about the same issues at http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/16979 -- keep an eye on that discussion too. I can confirm that I'm having trouble too.
-
This is certainly on the wishlist for a future release. No ETA, as far as I know. But you can always search the forums-- no need to read all the posts! (http://forums.zotero.org/search/)
-
Well that was quick. Thanks.

When I try to import the citation above using a fresh install of Zotero 2.1.1 on Firefox 4 under Linux, I get an empty "Webpage" item. I've worked on the translator some and can get back to saving a real entry; to try it, go to http://github.com/aj…

That's because Zotero is running as an app tab (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-are-app-tabs).
-
The place to watch for updated documentation is http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/translator_coding -- but that is still far from complete. Send an email to zotero-dev, as Dan says, with a copy of the translator to troubleshoot. Improved translator…

There is a patch somewhere on the forums to make the right pane hideable. Not sure if I can dig it up, but I found it useful.

If it's a technical support question, then clearly the correct procedure is to post here on the forums. What about non-technical questions, perhaps about terms of use, interest in large subscription arrangements, and so forth? Should they all be po…

You can also email support@zot....org -- it's essentially the same people. I don't know what is taking them so long, but trying another channel might help.
-
The devs are currently exploring whether there are 1.0.x --> 2.1 problems-- but you should and could now upgrade to 2.1, which is safe and stable for everyday use.
-
Don't use export and import for this. If you will be collaborating on a document, you should create a private group for your authors and copy the items to that group. Cite from the group library and the citations should be maintained fine.

They both save for me, with quite incomplete metadata (no journal names, etc). I'll look into it some more tomorrow.
