Open a virtual TTY (Ctrl-Alt-F3, then login) and do: export DISPLAY=":0.0" compiz Things will come back to life. But man, this is still no fun.
-
Having run into this again, I can say that the only thing more annoying than Compiz crashing while editing a manuscript is trying to find a way to revive Compiz by looking up docs from a virtual TTY, or trying to navigate Zotero.org in Links. Someo…

Wiki updated as well.
-
No-- that's a half-fix that I had lying about already. I will get to this later, but not for at least several days.
-

I have a partially-working translator that you can use for now: Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/The Economist.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support…

And for those who never can remember how to log into the wiki, just append ?do=login to any wiki URL, like this: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/start/index?do=login That will also let you set up a wiki account if you don't have one. Yes, I know…

I agree that it would be good to have more open communication on this, but I know that Debbie understands the value of the current content-- it still makes plenty of sense to contribute to the wiki. I don't know what exactly is planned for the gener…

Oops. The right-click menu only gives "Show File" and so forth. But use the arrow for the locate menu.
-
You can also get locate options by right-clicking on an item.
-
It has become an arrow just to the right of the quick search box.
-
Please try with a few journals, search pages, and so forth. If nothing appears to be wrong, confirm that all is well and we'll get this out to clients.
-
If it's possible, that would be wonderful. It really would be.
-
It looks to me like we have pinpoint locators consisting of multiple parts here: 1. Bureau of the Census, Heads of Families at the First Census of the United States Taken in the Year 1790: South Carolina (Washington, D.C.: Government Printing Office…
-
But then Library Catalog and Archive should be many-to-one as well, since the call numbers and archival locators are catalog- and archive-specific.
-
I would love for them to be many-to-one. I frequently resort to hacks to fit multiple such identifiers into one record.
-
And it is possible that the citations are too complex for Zotero handle at present. If so, we'll take genealogy's needs into account for the next version of the style language. But legal citations are a key goal of Zotero for the next major release…
-
I've fixed the link above-- try now. We just need to see examples of citations for different kinds of sources. That's all. We can work from that to make Zotero style its citations the way you want. No need to pay anyone, just do the legwork to prov…

The book might provide style guides, but adamsmith's generous offer to help does not extend to doing research on what the styles are, if they are only defined in this book and not in a widely available online source. See http://www.zotero.org/suppo…

I'll pass this on to EBSCO-- maybe they can make some changes to improve the situation. So this would appear to break all proxied EBSCO users?
-
Oh. That is odd. Could proxying be causing the issue here? I don't ever use proxies, so I don't know.

Devs: Can you post the relevant portion of brkim's report?
-
See http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs Click the save icon in the address bar, then submit an error report as described above, and post the ID here.
-
We aren't computer people. The people on this forum are by and large researchers in a wide variety of fields, who use Zotero in our everyday work. For adamsmith to create citation styles, to create bibliographies and whatnot in the formats that gene…

Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Wiley Online Library.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). This now supports multiple item saves, an…

They could hire me to write a translator, for a mere 0.1% of annual revenues. I'd do it for a lifetime membership, for that matter.
-
In light of this, please do not try to make the changes suggested above. Just wait for 2.1.2, which should be soon (there are some urgent regressions to be addressed).
-
I have a test version of the EBSCO translator-- give it a try. Go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/EBSCOhost.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data…

Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/IEEE Xplore.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data). It should start working again. If this works for y…
