It's only somewhat related, but I believe Zotero used to support at least the Census records on Ancestry.com. Is that no longer working for you?
-
See http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues In particular, try #4 & #10 (updating and resetting translators). There have been some updates in the past months.
-
[Edit: Please do not make these changes. Wait for 2.1.2.] I think that Zotero in Firefox 4 is actually unpacked by default, so it's really just a matter of making one change to one file. The file is [Firefox profile directory]/extensions/zotero@ch…

Is there a page somewhere describing what a site should do to create a Zotero-compatible lookup engine? I feel like there is one, but I can't find it on zotero.org.
-
Looks like I can't this to work in Zotero 2.1 (multilingual branch). I tried: 1) Go to http://pubget.com/ 2) Click on the search engine icon in Firefox and select "Add Pubget Search" 3) Click on the locate menu in Zotero and select Manage Lookup En…

We couldn't reach agreement on the pending changes quickly enough to get this into Zotero 2.1 -- see https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/issues for the status of all active proposals. The Zotero team is committed to making these changes happen, b…

I'd like to bring this up again. I'm looking at changing the Radio Liberty translator to save audio when available, but saving audio files without a progress indicator is not so hot. We've also had discussions around translators for archives that h…

Is there any desire to resolve ticket 688, "Add Call Number and Archive Location to all fields" (https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/688)?
-
Zotero only shows search engines that can handle OpenURL searches-- there's a description somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.
-
The only way to do this at present is to click on the HTML button to view the note HTML or create a report from the item, then use Firefox's built-in search (Ctrl-F).
-
Now in SVN, r8755.
-
Fixed on Github. I think we can put this in the repository now. Let me know if you run into any additional metadata that Readability picks up, but doesn't get put in the Zotero item.
-
For completeness: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0b13pre) Gecko/20110322 Firefox/4.0b13pre Zotero 2.1m8734 (apparently old version-- I'll go update it now)
-
Maybe. I'm in Firefox 4.

citeproc-js's date parser does recognize seasons, but I think Zotero is still using its internal date parser for now... In other words, I have no idea. We'll have to wait for Dan and Simon to show up here.
-
This does sounds like an unintended side effect of the literal date passthrough for unparsed date elements that I think citeproc-js implements. Frank?
-
Fixed on Github, I think. Let me know if you run into something that Readability renders with multiple authors-- I haven't accounted for that yet, since I don't quite know how Readability will present it.
-
Confirmed in ML Zotero 2.1. Not sure about vanilla Zotero 2.1.1, but you're right that this shouldn't be the case.
-
Updated on Github again-- please update your local installation.
-
I had forgotten to have it save snapshots. The version on Github now grabs them as well. Please use this for a bit and report back on how it works soon. If all is well, I'll commit it to the repository.
-
I think that if a 3rd-party developer did this and it wasn't terribly bug-ridden, it would be taken up by the core integration plugins. Cf. the Pubget team and the new locator engine system-- if certainly wasn't a priority of the core team, but the …

Ask (for easy and good things) and ye shall receive. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/Readability.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data…

This didn't happen because, well, we didn't lay out precisely how it should work.

See proposed addition of a "subtitle" field: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/8077/separate-fields-for-title-and-subtitle/#Comment_86539

Well-- the discussion of new fields is currently happening, so I suppose it's now or never. See http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/15636, and the concrete proposals and their status at https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/issues . I will add tha…

You're right-- the language field currently does not use any single tagging system. This is really part of the larger question that faces Zotero users who are trying to do collaborative curation of metadata-- how do we enforce or encourage controlle…
-
Glad to hear. This will no longer be necessary in 2.1.2, so do "Reset Translators" in the Zotero preferences when that release comes out.
-
Translators save quotes unchanged from how they stand in the input -- be that a website or some import format.
-
So everyone should use straight quotes (") and trust that the locales will make sense of them?
