It would be nice to see translators for Facebook, Twitter, and some other similar sites. Highly dynamic sites often fail to be captured effectively by Zotero.

I've seen slowness when changing fields from within search results at times as well, with Ubuntu 10.10 and Firefox 4.0 -- can't confirm right now, but in general I'd stay away from making lots of changes from within search results.

To get them exported in the order they are in the middle pane, you need to select them all (Ctrl-A), right click on the selected items, and select Export. You're right that the sorting when exporting by right-clicking on the collection in the left …

So these all work when you edit them in LibreOffice only, and break when moving between Open and Libre?
-
Maybe we could get author and year as a tooltip when hovering on items in the related list? I also agree on the previous point of adding quicksearch to the add related dialog. Not sure why it isn't there.
-
Do you have a library proxy perhaps? Dan: Can you look at the debug output from April 6? It sounds like a real issue with subsequent requests in Standalone, but I don't know what's going on (nor have I seen it myself).
-
That sounds rather hard. Zotero doesn't generally know where on the page the citation is located, so this will not be easy to address. What style guide is this? It'd be good to document exactly who is requiring this.
-
Yes, I mean as ordered in the middle pane. I started writing before I starting thinking about this. And noksagt is completely right about bibtool-- anyone working extensively with BibTeX-centered workflows should be using it already.
-
I don't think Zotero is inserting the space. If you go to the footnote numbering preferences in Word, can you find anything on this?
-
Why would you need the type of book? Does the university differ from the publisher? How does it show up in the citation? How does the thesis directory show up in citations? We'll need some sample citations and references to relevant style guides her…

Of course, any formulation that relies on page content will have to have all three languages, too (French, German, English).

Further discussion of the translator specifics should be on the developer list, zotero-dev (http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev), but note that you should try to craft XPath expressions that are more flexible-- the ones you have look they were…
-
Original date of publication hasn't been added to Zotero yet; it will probably come in the next major version, with a separate field.
-
Can you post the problematic file somewhere?
-
The export is usually pretty much unordered. Have you tried sorting the collection in the Zotero pane and exporting? It would be possible to add sorting to the exporter, but people usually don't need it, and it would just slow things down.
-
Many databases are supported by Zotero and will show the folder/article icons in the address bar.
-
Yes-- your word processor should have settings for resetting numbering by chapter, if you use section breaks appropriately.

The advice of talking to your librarians/purchasers about this still holds. I could do this if I had a day or so to dedicate to it, but I don't see that happening in the near future. I would, however, be happy to work with Ovid developers to make th…

I just tried to set up PDF downloading again, and I decided that this is just not worth the trouble. There's a mess of special parameters we need to set and reverse-engineer to get the PDFs automatically. I recommend setting up Zotfile, which can ad…

I contacted the author of the patch in that bug, and while he's no longer at the Komodo project which the patch originated in, he's looking into whether anyone at Komodo has an up-to-date version of the patch so we can push through a fix. It doesn't…

Yes, it would be great to serve the PDF on a page with unAPI, using a format like BibTeX or RIS; just specify the PDF path as an attached file in the BibTeX or RIS. See http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/exposing_metadata
-
Can you confirm that the DOI and Journal Abbreviation are listed on the page you're saving from? If they are, then we should be able to get them with some post-processing-- adamsmith is right that that data is probably missing from the export data t…

So you've checked proxy settings for Zotero, for Firefox, and in your operating system's own networking preferences?
-
The SEASR plugin needs to be updated for Zotero 2.1. Contact them and ask them to post to zotero-dev (http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev) if they have any questions on how to make the plugin 2.1-compatible.
-
These aren't styles, but rather export translators in this case. But the idea is just right.
-
This is because Zotero is now an app tab (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-are-app-tabs) when in fullscreen mode. I agree that it'd be nice to have it remember what tab you were on, though, since I still use it just the way you describe.
-
That's essentially the intermittent issue I'm still seeing, but there's about nothing we can do about it. Does the translator give you the PDF now?
-
Sounds like a locale issue: http://www.zotero.org/support/supported_languages#citations_and_bibliographies
-
You shouldn't have needed to restart Firefox, but you would need to reload the page. I also got intermittent errors in testing, but I think they had to with how I canceled the PDF download that the embedded PDF kept triggering, and there's not much…

Please ignore the bit about proxies, I suppose. The updated translator might still do the trick.
