A huge amount has changed, and the next release of Zotero and likely of standalone is apparently coming in the next week or two (unofficial estimate, from comments on the forum). It'd be great if stuff like this was on the blog, but it isn't. The …

Adam: Thanks for the link. I'll take a look at HTML fulltext when I get a chance. arggem: No one else has confirmed yet that PDF saving from search results is working -- we'll have to see what other people are seeing. I don't have access to ATLAS, …

Please direct questions like this to zotero-dev: http://groups.google.com/group/zotero-dev

Ok. Glad to hear that PDFs are working. Can you (1) confirm that PDF saving gets the correct item for each PDF when saving multiple results from search pages and (2) provide the URL of a document that doesn't have a PDF, for which an HTML snapshot s…

adamsmith: Can you give the EBSCO translator a try and see if it's working for you? I don't know if it's working for just me, or not working for just arggem. Thanks.

The current version is at https://github.com/zotero/translators/blob/master/Wikileaks Cables.js -- you're welcome to propose changes either there (comment on the code or just log in and click "edit this file") or on the development mailing list, zot…

This change was made on both the branch and trunk in changeset 10026. It should be safe to install the 2.1 branch XPI, although it'd be wise to make a backup beforehand.

I think that this is already planned, but I don't know the status of it.

I created a ticket for this in the bug tracker (https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1878). We'll get to the bottom of this yet. :)

Adding to the chorus of power users who want this-- me too! Now which one of us is going to go code-diving and introduce this?

Ok. I've made some more changes to PDF saving, and now it saves the correct PDF for each item, at least in my testing. New version up at GitHub-- reinstall from there as before. This version also strips out the fragment identifier (#) from all of i…

Ed: I need to know the URL triggering this-- it was in the debug output here:url => http://ehis.ebscohost.com/eds/detail?vid=2&hid=116&sid=dda094aa-67d1-4c80-ba0b-bf87139407d8%40sessionmgr114&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWRzLWxpdmUmc2NvcGU9c2l0ZQ%3…

Reinstall from Github again. The "an" thing was an oversight-- sorry. The dates should work now too, but I can't test them easily, since I don't have any records to test on. Let me know how the new version works for you.
-
Ed: That's an error that's being triggered somewhere deeper, in Zotero's proxy system. I think it has to do with the fragment marker (#) in the address-- try reinstalling and saving again. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/maste…

arggem: The PDF issue seems to be fixed now. Reinstall from Github. I'm having trouble working on the date issue, since I don't have access to the items you're using. Try to save them and provide debug output for the attempt, posting the debug ID he…

[Note: This is for the date issue. I'll try the PDFs again.] Try installing again: Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/EBSCOhost.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zot…

I've fixed the multiple item saving issues, I believe. Ed's issue was because I wasn't being too careful with my asynchronous requests (this has a lot of them-- so it runs rather slowly), and Zotero was prematurely deciding that the translation had …
-
Dan: Can you post the relevant portion of Ed's debug output? arggem: Can you just post the error text (from Report Errors) here on the forum? It'll be faster than waiting for Dan to retrieve it from the logs. As for the dates, can you post the corr…

As http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/creating_locate_engines_using_opensearch notes, you can add an Amazon search engine from the page http://www.zotero.org/opensearchdemo/opensearch_amazon.html Unfortunately, it looks like there hasn't been much u…

Ouch. I suppose I imagined inter-application dragging was as loosely coupled as dragging in HTML5 (itself not the easiest thing in the world). But perhaps this would work with Outlook? Or some other program that handled its drags differently?

For issue (2), I'm having trouble finding a file that's doesn't give me a PDF attachment (UCLA apparently subscribes to lots of full-text databases through EBSCO). Can you provide a debug ID (http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output) for an attemp…

(4) is fixed now on Github. Reinstall from there to fix the permalinks.

Ed: You'll need to update to the latest EBSCO translator first: go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/EBSCOhost.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zotero data directory (http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_dat…

Jan: (2) seems to indicate that EBSCOhost is sending incorrect header information-- Zotero is clearly looking for something of type "application/pdf", and if the file is being saved, that seems to mean that EBSCO is serving it incorrectly. I'll expl…

First, check two things. Can you drag-and-drop PDFs from Thunderbird to the desktop? Can you drag-and-drop PDFs from the desktop into Zotero? If you can do both of these things, then it should be possible to drag-and-drop into Zotero from Thunderbir…

In most cases, your operating system will warn you when a disk is nearly full. I don't know how this is done in Windows, but Mac OS and at least some distributions of Linux have this as a standard feature.

There have been several improvements to the Word integration for Mac and Windows that haven't been released for Standalone yet. Try using Zotero-in-Firefox for now, with the latest Word plugin. To maintain much of the standalone experience, you can …

This would be possible, but it would depend on the mail client. I doubt this ever worked with something Gmail, but it probably should work with Outlook, Thunderbird and other desktop mail software. It mainly depends on the other piece of software,no…

I fixed this several days ago-- it looks like perhaps translator updates aren't being pushed out as they should. Please go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/ScienceDirect.js and save the file to the translators directory of your Zo…
