An enterprising company / research group can run an independent instance of the Zotero dataserver, and distribute to its users modified versions of Zotero that sync with that server. For information, see the user-provided instructions here: http://w…

I should also note that I use MLZ every day for my own research, so it is in general quite stable and very useful. I haven't experienced any of the notes issues you're referring to (although I have had issues with adding related items, and sometimes…

Emerald and ProQuest changes have been committed-- update translators from the Zotero prefs to get them immediately. Thanks to adamsmith for the great work!
-
I'm sure Frank Bennett (fbennett), creator and maintainer of MLZ, will look into this, but note that the MLZ code does differ quite significantly from the standard Zotero code, in part because the changes to support multiple versions of a field are …

If the WebDAV information (server name, path) is entered separately, I suppose we could implement reading from WebDAV. That'll wait a little longer than reading from Zotero File Storage, but I certainly see why it's worth trying.
-
Great to hear. The 1.1 release has slipped a little, but I still should be getting it out in the coming days. Supporting WebDAV might be quite hard to handle, since files on WebDAV are zipped up, and I don't think that their information is availabl…

This is supported properly in the multilingual version of Zotero: http://gsl-nagoya-u.net/http/pub/zotero-multilingual-overview.html The original character import still won't work in every database, since we need to make some changes to the site tr…

If you can be a little more specific with your concerns with importing from websites, I can address the issues you're experiencing. In many cases, we're limited to the metadata that journals and other content providers offer us, but I'm always glad …

I'll be working on this ASAP -- it affects my home library as well.
-
We're probably not going to add a fallback like that, but it is often possible to notify the publishers when data is missing in CrossRef. I've found that they are usually quite responsive and do update their data in the CrossRef database.
-
This should be fixed now -- sorry for the repeated failed attempts.
-
This has been refined somewhat and is now in the main repository, including support for more metadata (pages, DOIs, ISSNs), as well as PDFs. Update translators from the Zotero prefs or wait 24 hours to receive the new version automatically.
-
An updated BMC translator is now available, using more of the embedded RDF, and including this journal in the target expression. Update translators from the Zotero preferences.
-
This should be out to all clients within 24 hours, or hit "Update translators" in the Zotero prefs to get it right away. Thanks to adamsmith for putting this together!
-
I agree on adding a visible indicator-- it's pretty hard to remember what has related items, and it seems pretty inconvenient to have to open that tab to see whether something has relations.
-
If you can get a list of PMIDs to query for, Zotero can import the PubMed file that you get from PubMed. As for unique IDs in the file, that's something that you could do in R, or that you could ask someone to help with-- it's a pretty straightforwa…

I think I have a fix for this-- part of it I already committed to the repository, so first hit "Update Translators" in the Zotero prefs. Then, go to http://github.com/ajlyon/translators/raw/master/BioMed Central and More.js and save the file to the …

Fixed. There was indeed a small issue with RIS that would break some translators, and there seems to be a PLoS issue too, but I wrote a quick workaround for that too. Update translators from the Zotero prefs to get the new version immediately; it'll…

I worked on this a bit more, and should soon have a new version that isn't so completely broken. It may still not work with all databases.
-
Great to hear.

Hopefully the core team can look into this, but can you try Zotero 3.0 in the meantime?
-
This is a little harder than that, unfortunately, since Zotero's internal representation of dates has only day-level resolution-- you'll note that Zotero never actually does anything with the time portion of your date fields.
-
Though people have said they'd like for the automatic proxying notification to stop appearing at some point, it is the case that the notice should appear every time you connect to EBSCO using the proxy. If it isn't appearing, then Zotero is currentl…
-
If this is using COinS, then it's a bug that should be fixed in 3.0, if not in 2.1.10.
-
The main thing you need to confirm is that Zotero is managing your proxy for you-- if it is, then you'll know because Zotero will warn you every time it starts proxying a connection.

Ok. Browsing by tag is also planned, but not yet implemented. I'll see what I can do for this week's 1.1 release, but that may slip to 1.2. For more information on the goals for each of the coming versions, see the tracker: https://github.com/ajlyo…

flobede: Take a look at the Zandy user guide. The besy way to work with a large library (mine is nearing 3000 items) is to browse by collection. Long-tap to view the items in a collection. The 1.1 release, in a few days, will improve some of the lo…

Those are the same ISBN, just one is an ISBN-10, the other ISBN-13. If they are being used to refer to different books, then someone made a mistake in registering these ISBNs (which does happen).
-
No, this isn't supported and probably won't happen at all, unless someone decides to add something like this as a third-party plugin. The whole apparatus of LaTeX is a huge dependency, and there's no way it's going to happen in Zotero proper. I supp…

The order should be preserved either way, although using an indexed array is slightly safer, since the properties could included unexpected ones if, say, Object has been extended. In general, though, direct questions like this to zotero-dev, the dev…
