You cannot import keywords from PDFs directly and it may not be possible to import them at all, but this depends on how the PDF is identified and which translator is used to retrieve the metadata. The problem here is that it is not easy to define a…

You need to describe your problem more clearly so that there is no need to guess what you are trying to do. Please read the documentation about groups http://www.zotero.org/support/groups Am I correct to state that you have to accounts (2 "My li…

"My Library" is private and my "My Library" of user A is not visible for user B, so your questions is a bit confusing. You cannot delete "My Library" entirely, but you can purge the files from the server so it does not take any storage space using…

10 dollars buys one beer in downtown Helsinki. If someone does not appreciate the software more than that, I do not want them using it. More seriously, I did increase the price of ZotPad by about 50% between 1.0 and 1.1., but there is a good reaso…

Please do not use exclamation mark in topic. It is considered shouting and a bit rude. You cannot choose which collections are synced. It is all or nothing. Double check that both have synced their Zoteros. The number of references should be the …

Zotero does not contain a PDF viewer, so I do not think that it would make sense to use Zotero as your starting point for developing something like this.
-
I think that the main reason is that Zotero already offers two different cloud-based synchonization solutions: Zotero file storage and WebDAV. Dropbox is inferior to WebDAV, and supporting it "officially" would probably lead to increasing number of …

I have written some stuff about iPad and file synchronizing here. This is obviously focused on ZotPad, but you might find some of it relevant even if you are not ZotPad user http://zotpad.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/103784-which-file-stora…

You can use Google's iOS app for scanning. Then open the resulting Google Book page in Safari and then use the bookmarklet. Takes about 2-5 seconds to do this after you have set the bookmarklet up. ZotPad will eventually support scanning, but this …

Some users are reporting crashes with the 1.1 build and there will be a maintenance release addressing these problems soon. Meanwhile, if you encounter crashes, turn off preemptive cache for attachment files. More information available here: http:/…

I am posting here because followers of this thread might be interested: ZotPad 1.1 is now available. Check out the original thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/24956/new-version-of-zotpad-ipadiphone-client-for-zotero-available/ (Any follow…

Both of your examples have Finder as one participant, and Finder is a special case. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/19465/copy-attachment-files-to-clipboard/ http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/22673/?Focus=121525

No. As far as I know, this is a limitation of OS X: Only Finder or window manager can place files in clipboard.

I do not think that you need to use ZotFile to sync files across computers running Zotero. If I am correct, you can sync any folder on your computer. Just set up a direct sync between the Zotero storage folders (inside the data folder) on the differ…

Only the stored files use space, not item data. You should double check that L1 has no attachments. (Check trash too.)

I wrote some instructions about Dropbox here. They are written for users of ZotPad, but should apply to others as well. https://zotpad.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/103395-what-is-a-symbolic-link-and-why-should-i-use-one-w ZotPad 1.1 enable…

If scrivener provides a programming interface, a plugin for Zotero will eventually be written by someone. If Scrivener does not provide a programming interface, plugin is not possible. So the ball is on the Scrivener end here. (Same can be said abou…

If you think that Zotero does not do something that some other software does, that's a good case to write in the feature requests forum. I for one would love to see Zotero using Spotlight index for searching PDFs.
-
So the problem that you are trying to solve is to search PDFs based on tags and annotations? There are several solutions: 1 Make Zotero write tags as OpenMeta tags, use Spotlight for searching 2 Implement a spotlight plugin for Zotero so that Spot…

Why do you want to use two different software for managing the PDFs? Would it be simpler to store the files in Zotero and use Zotero's tagging feature? What you are asking is rocket science. It would be a huge effort and difficult to get right.
-
Keeping two reference management software in sync by importing and exporting is asking for trouble. What is the problem that you are trying to solve with this kind of setup? (Or what is the problem that you want to solve by using OpenMeta) Many sof…

This is not possible, but I believe this has been requested a few times. I do not know if it is a planned feature, though.

ddl: Start a separate thread and describe what you want to accomplish with your setup. Prop files contain metadata that is needed for syncing. ZIP files contain the actual attachment files with base 64 encoded file names. Both are meant to be acces…

As far as I know, Android is not based on Debian in anyway. They both use a version of the linux kernel and have some libraries in common. You can of course install a desktop operating system (e.g. Debian or Ubuntu) on the Android tablet and then …

7 does not work. Firefox for Android and Firefox are not the same, but different products. (Like Safari on Mac and iPad are different, and IE on Windows Phone and Windows PC are different.)

6) Buy an iPad and use ZotPad. Version 1.1 will be released in a week or two and will support 1, 2, and 3 (with iTunes). :)

gilsayer: It works just fine for me. If you post your logs online, I can take a look Do this: 1) Run Zotero Standalone with real time debug info http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#mac_os_x 2) Try to use ZoteroQuicklook 3) Post your log her…

Edit: I previously posted that ZQL would not work with Standalone, but it seems to be working just fine. For some reason the preview appeared on the second monitor and I did not notice it. When reporting problems, report the exact versions. ZQL 1.3…
