Wanted to add, URL is http:// and definitely resolves in the browser...

Hmm, I see. Well, can I push for that [tooltip inconsistency], even if I am an outlier case?
-
Dan, adam, It's still happening despite my modifications - here for example is a screencap of the SO software from last night when the computer was on. Firefox was running in background but there was definitely nothing else going on... http://i.img…

Hi guys, thanks for your help. First, I unchecked all the translators and changed the option to just one backup. I don't think I can change the software to backup just a file in a separate profile than everything else. A limitation of SO, perhaps, …

Thanks guys!

UPDATE: I followed some of the steps here: http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#debugging_broken_documents and only the copying and pasting seemed to fix it. Strange bug to have cropped up randomly but glad to have fix…

Yep

Adam, I tried disabling adblock/ghostery on the youtube page, no luck. I also tried disabling HTTPS-Everywhere (which forces SSL on many sites, its from the EFF). also no dice. Any more suggestions? Not a *huge* deal, I can add manually bu…

Sorry, that is to say that I have updated all Translators and I also disabled all other plugins and tried from new. I don't want to do the whole uninstall reinstall route but I will if y'all suggest that's the only case. Thanks!
-
Hey Adam, yes it is zotero firefox win7; and i've tried 4 and 7!
-
Simon: And.. We are good! Effing props to you, Dan, Adam and the rest of the team.
-
Simon - I can update to the dev xpi if you want, but two questions: 1. Can I "downgrade" to a nondev version after or am I stuck on the dev path? 2. Will I receive the same error cedhoh081 got? I want to avoid that!

No fbennett, fields are selected.

Adam and Simon I can confirm that copy/pasting that page (inc footnote) into a new doc generates that same error. So does creating a new doc, creating a new footnote, and inserting that way. Yikes!

Hi simon, its my dissertation so i'm pretty hesitant to send it actually... I guess i can cut/copy/paste that one page, but would that screw up the bug (if that makes sense)? edit: its at 120 pages right now, also...
-
BY the way adam, you do know Mozilla pushed FF8.0 last night/today, right?
-
Thanks adam! I'm amazed at your forum prowess. I'll try to follow in the German...

No, but meaning that the errors related to other applications/plugins. For example I use HTTPS-Everywhere, the EFF plugin to force sites to move to SSL and on the particular page I tried to do this, the only error I had was that one (that also shows…

Dan: Zotero is not reporting any errors which is why I haven't provided it. Adam: I realize sadly this might totally be out of the scope of y'alls support, but I thought that it might be some kind of complex problem of zotero AND Win7, not just…

Adam, i'm bumping this because I'm getting increasingly frustrated. Every third time I save a file and rename it, I run into the same issue. Sometimes the folder is re-marked Read Only by win7, sometimes its not, but i don't know what to do. have yo…

Hello! It worked! I had just migrated my whole zotero dir from another computer and apparently it had set as read only. I did a search on the forums, I swear.... Thanks again all.
-
So i guess my question is, should i start from scratch with the renaming bug (the PDF not being renamed in the Zotero DB) or report the filesystem as a bug?
-
interesting. What I've found is happening to me is that the file is actually being renamed on the filesystem (Win7) but that the name is not updated within Zotero. Thus, when trying to "show file" it says file does not exist, because it has been ren…

Thanks Simon that's great!
-
ok for future reference: uninstalling and installing the same version of zotero solved the problems and kept all preferences/data.
-
OK, will do and report back. Is there anything I should do for bugtesting/future reference that would help you and the Zotero team?
-
will i lose database/other settings? what is best practice to reinstall while maintaining integrity? uninstall first, then install? install over? thanks dan.
-
Also, for your FAQ FYI, FF5 profiles have neither compreg.dat OR xpti.dat to delete (hidden or otherwise). Or at least mine did not.
-
DAn, no errors reported via FF5 error console related to zotero. whats next?
-
OK. thanks dan for your hard work.
