• the problem was gone after I restarted my laptop! I often leave Zotero and my laptop open for very long times, perhaps that might explain the lagging?

• Just as an update, I deleted JurisM and started using only Zotero and the problems disappeared! I also discovered Zotero is just as capable as JurisM for legal sources, so no need for another program anymore.
