Another point, drag and drop does not allow overwriting of old version of text in the note. The text to be replaced/updated has to be deleted separately from the moving the OneNote (master) text, makes it a two-stage process.

Solved it, at least for the moment - it was two citations of the same reference. I removed them and it seems to be working again. It took a lot of finding. I am going to delete and replace the reference's entry in the database
