I'm seeing the same behavior. I'm getting "accepted" version of the paper (no formatting, figures at the end) instead of the Journal website version when using add item. Removing the PDF and using "find available PDF" downloads the correct version. …

I see, indeed they are updating this. I saw no immediate references to this on the Cell author instructions. Thank you for staying so current on this.
-
When is this change going to be implemented? I'm looking at the Cell website right now and all the papers still use (author, year) format.
-
Trying for Cell. It seems that all the Cell journal styles in Zotero use superscript numeral footnotes instead of (author, year) like other styles. This seems to be an error? If I change to an (author, year) style like APA or something that works b…

The new one looks like its working so far, I think I still had the old one installed

Thanks for updating this, I'll give the new one a try

I'm not on the beta but I'm getting the error: ZoteroQuickLook is incompatible with Zotero 5.0.28 ZoteroQuickLook 1.3.1.1-signed.1-signed (disabled) After I reinstall the version reports it is 1.3.1. Not sure if that adds any information. Thank…

I have the same problem. The add-in functions well until I restart Zotero, then it reports being incompatible and is disabled. I think I read on the forums that someone had made a version that was compatible, but I can't find that anymore.
-
OK. I'll submit a ticket if I keep having problems. I don't know if it's possible but it would be awesome if the feature from that website could be implemented in the Zotero client. Thanks again.

OK. Just so I'm clear. Should I be able to temporarily import the JSON to convert to RIS, export, and then delete the newly added references without having to merge with the old versions? Thanks again for the quick responses.
-
Thanks this is very helpful. This generates a JSON file. I had to import this back into Zotero to export as RIS (my collaborators use EndNote). When I imported into Zotero I was able export to RIS. However I think I messed up the references as I sta…

Just wanted to post an update. I did multiple things at once that seem to have resolved the problem, but I don't know which was responsible. I'm posting this in case anyone else encounters a similar issue. I moved all the text from a corrupted doc…
-
I see. Thanks for the information, I didn't know that was a problem. Could that explain the file corruption issue?
-
It's definitely possible. I try to delete duplicates regularly. Of note, last night I copied all the text from one of my documents that had the icon grayed out into a new document and saved that. This new document allowed unchecking of the icon. …
-
It's a gray checked box that I can't uncheck in all the previously made documents I've checked. New documents allow me to uncheck the box.
-
"Store references in Document" is checked and grayed out. Is there any way to modify this? Thanks again. I just noticed something. Do I need to save all documents as .doc and not .docx? I just noticed the language about .doc in the "Format using" …

Thanks for the information. The crashes occur when I'm typing and not when I'm adding a reference. It's difficult to be certain, but I'm pretty sure I'm only getting crashes in documents that have Zotero references added. I think Word may be running…

Sorry to double post, I didn't know if I needed to create a separate post for the error reporting. My original post - http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/63666/word-2016-mac-crashing I've been having problems with Zotero crashing Word on my mac f…

Thanks for the responses. I have about 50 citations. Zotero/Word 2011 were slow together (much slower than the Windows counterparts), but usable. This combination of Zotero/Word 2016 is nearly unusable for me. "adding/updating references is practi…

OK thanks.

OK a prior thread confused me into thinking it existed. Bummer. Thanks for the reply. I have a lot of trouble finding things in Zotero by using search. I almost always have to search through my collections to find anything. Are there better ways…

Just wanted to follow up that the problem (for me) seems to be resolved and indeed was related to Word. Recent updates of Word fixed the problem. Now my CPU use is < 5% for Word most of the time.
-
OK thanks for the reply. I just didn't know if Zotero could be writing something to the word documents that cause the Word app to do some recursive processes that utilize the CPU. Hopefully a future Word update can fix this then.
-
Bump? Are things working for other people now? I still have CPU maxing out when using Word 2016 and opening a file made with Zotero. I'd like to upgrade to Office 2016, but this is preventing me from upgrading.
-
Disregard: I seem to have been able to make it work after rebooting. Not sure what changed. Prior comment: I have the same problem. Is there any plans to get this to work, possibly by submitting the connector to Apple to be delivered via the Exte…
-
Addendum: I can confirm on my wife's MacBook Pro running El Capitan and Word 2016 that a file generated in Word 2011 with a Zotero bibliography results in a resting 75%+ CPU usage drops to nearly zero with unchecking spell check as you type. Zotero …
-
Is this still a problem? I've been wanting to upgrade to Office 2016, but I'm afraid to get the high CPU utilization problems again.
-
I have the same issue, but I had not yet installed the Zotero plug ins and so it's difficulty to know if the issue lies with a Zotero formatted word document or is unrelated to Zotero entirely. I had >70% CPU usage on any word document that had b…

For unclear reasons the issue has resolved itself. Thanks for the assistance.

Passes integrity check. 206729 words. I can't reproduce the error at the moment on my MacBook Air (2-3 second response delay). I'll see if I can still reproduce the issue on my work iMac and home PC.
