OK, I followed that protocol, and when I got to the point of deleting all of the text except the two citations and refreshed Zotero, nothing happened. However, I decided to try just entering the citations as if they were new and deleting the old one…

Do I understand correctly that it could be a different citation or something else in the document causing these citations with special characters to display incorrectly? If so, do I delete parts of the document that don't contain these references, t…

I have tried all of these steps already, that's why I'm asking for help. The one thing I haven't yet tried on this doc is the deleting-by-halves. There are two specific citations that are having problems. Do you have any specific suggestions to addr…

You're welcome to share it with the Google Docs developers if it means a chance at fixing the problems. I have disabled v2 and that got rid of that particular error.
-
I don't see the issue in a new document. We're using APA 7.
-
I have sent the files over.
-
Sure, I'll email them.
-
OK, sent! If you're able to help me get rid of this error, I'll be very grateful.
-
Yes, that was me. Do you need the complete document or do I need to do the "deleting half at a time" procedure again?
-
Actually, that did not help - now I get this error: 500: Google Docs request failed. { "error": { "code": 500, "message": "Internal error encountered.", "status": "INTERNAL" } }
-
Yes, that worked! Hopefully that will speed things up moving forward. Thanks for the help.

That seems to have helped, thank you. Now it takes less than a minute instead of several minutes for it to update. I have tried to enable v2 but it's grayed out. Here's what it looks like: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1StCm3JhO2Jcg2T3qR3Qumdy…

Google Docs integration is enabled, but v2 is grayed out. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1StCm3JhO2Jcg2T3qR3QumdyPJj_YtFAq3Nuwq8iULtM/edit?usp=sharing

I thought I had mentioned this above, but I'm not seeing it. The v2 box is grayed out in my preferences.
-
I'm not sure that it is reproducible anymore, plus the problem is solved so I'm moving on. Thanks for your help!

I think I may have solved the problem. I followed the directions step by step until I deleted a citation that, when deleted, I was able to copy-paste elsewhere. The Google Docs Zotero connector is still painfully slow, but at least I'm not getting a…

Reporting back - this problem seems to happen with all citations. I've tried it with a variety of them throughout the document and it doesn't seem to matter which citation I try to copy-paste, so the troubleshooting steps in that article aren't help…

Is there a projected release date for the new Chrome version?
-
I'm using Zotero in Chrome, not Firefox. I'll take a look at those links you provided.

I’m using command+c/command+v (Mac) and the links are still breaking. It used to work just fine, but now it’s not. The Google Docs plugin is also SUPER slow lately and freezes.
