I'm in the same boat. I use Scrivener for my long-form writing. Once I felt I've read and annotated a source enough in Zotero, I export its annotation notes directly into a "research" folder in Scrivener, which is organized by author. So it would be…

I also agree that being able to change the item pane section order would be fantastic. My main (somewhat embarrassing) issue is I tend to misclick on "Collections" instead of "Notes" in the attachment tab view because the "Notes", "Collections", "…

Chiming in to add that for me, being able to hide empty fields would still be absolutely brilliant, even with the addition of pinning + collapsible sections.
-
I would also love to be able to do this directly within Zotero.

I am also very much looking forward to an Android app. I almost bought an iPad just to be able to annotate in Zotero but glad I held off. Can't wait!

No, because they have different authors. Your first is Dolezal, Jandova, Macek, Mudrak, et al., 2021 and your second is Dolezal, Jandova, Macek, & Liancourt, 2021. If you shorten them both to Dolezal et al. 2021a, 2021b, a reader might assume ea…

Thanks @dstillman. I reckoned that might be the issue. I've tried variants of what you just proposed but not with such precise methodology. I'm working with a deadline right now and don't have too much time to spend debugging so for now I'll keep m…

Not trying to drag collections this time. Just all the items from one library (1136 items) into another library (118 items). The larger library had some smart searches saved so I deleted those. I restarted Zotero, made sure it was finished syncing,…

Oops I did it again... Debug error: D1903568160 This time with two different libraries (one containing the results of the problem library I was having issues with last time)

Not sure what happened but it seems to have worked. I restarted Zotero and checked database integrity. No issues found, yet I could still reproduce the problem. I restarted Zotero again and checked database integrity again. No issues found. I trie…

I am trying to drag a sub-sub-collection (or a selection of items, neither works) from the problem library directly to the library of another library. Which usually works.

Hi @dstillman. Debug ID is D364390018. I added more info to my original post. I hit "post comment" too early by accident :)

Thanks. What do I rename zotero.sqlite to? I also have a zotero.sqlite.1.bak and zotero.sqlite.bak file, do I modify those as well? Is there an ETA on a feature that allows us to remove local libraries without having to re-sync the entire library e…

Sorry for bumping an almost 6-year old thread, but I was just wondering about this feature: "maybe it could even be programmed the other way around, meaning that if you assign a tag to an item it would automatically be added to the equivalent colle…

Is this feature available yet? Need to delete hundreds of tags that came with an RIS file I imported...thus not "automatic" tags. Using Zotero standalone

Hi @zuphilip, Can't seem to be able to do that with basic filters. Trying my hand at advanced filters but it's a bit beyond my regular Excel usage. Once I get over the learning curve I'll get back to you.
-
Thanks @adamsmith Whoops, my bad. What I wanted to try was to alphabetically sort the comma-separated tags in Excel row by row once they're imported, then exploding the column -- not before writing them to the CSV! Don't have the technical ability…
-
@adamsmith thanks again. Any idea whether or not these are features one could expect in the eventual future? I had thought about alphabetically sorting out the tags before writing them to the CSV but have not tested it yet. I'll give it a try and…

@adamsmith - Thanks for your quick reply. With regards to RIS, I believe the problem may be contained to Nvivo. When an RIS file is opened in Nvivo, it generates a classification sheet useable in Nvivo that is, essentially, a CSV file. Therefore, i…
