I guess. :-) I was wondering whether this might be something known. I don't use Word or OpenOffice a lot these days, but I can set up a cron job to check for the file and restart Zotero in its absence.

Message sent. I'll keep posting updates here.

Yeah, that's my thinking. I'll get back to them and plug DA again. Am I right that they should just put the date in there, without the leading prose: C1 - Full publication date: Apr. - May, 1989 ?
-
I got a note from JSTOR a few weeks ago and they've updated their RIS(!). Looks like T2 is now correctly used for journal title, so Zotero doesn't put in the incorrect journal abbreviation from J0, One problem though is that they're including two d…

Thanks. I'm referencing Zotero in a talk and would like to have it show up in my bibliography for people to find, so this works.
-
No, I did not know that. I don't normally show the attachments column since you can tell by the arrow where there is anything there (which might be a note, of course) and there's not a lot of room. Maybe I will now.

I think I've commented on this in another thread too, but some way to check on the presence of stored files would help with maintenance.
-
Actually Standalone tells you the file isn't there when you right-click to "show the file", which is good. Otherwise, e.g., you hit the space bar to activate the quick look, it doesn't do anything and you have to check to see what's happened. WRT s…

Yeah, it just worked for me too on ElCap with the Safari 10. I was asked to approve a new application key to authenticate the connector. I did save the attachment to the on-line database, which I don't sync with, so Zotero Standalone reports an err…

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks.

Curious about a comment on this old thread: > Only variables defined in CSL are (and can be) included. Will non-CSL variables actually break CSL readers, like pandoc? I stuck a "file" variable into a library export in CSL JSON format and pandoc…

Coming back to this and specifically the idea of adding the ability in the standalone to create a snapshot for an existing entry. Something like a "Create snapshot" menu command or contextual-menu item.
-
Well, part of the problem is definitely with latex output. For example, small caps don't appear with the typefaces I've got in my template, which I assume is because they don't have such a font. (Would've guessed that latex would've done some sort o…

It's the standard fold-and-r.csl. https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/7116881001d4e494c7f56140b177b99492255517/fold-and-r.csl

OK, so in the json the presentation/poster comes out with a type of "speech", which also is unspecified in the csl. So I edited the csl to include "speech" in the section that includes the title macro, and that worked. Looks like I need to add it in…

Thanks. Gonna give that a shot.

Ignorance, apparently. I'm writing in markdown and using pandoc. The csl is fold-and-r. What's the advantage of json?
-
PS You can suppress the bibliography in pandoc via this in the YAML: link-citations: true It's actually pandoc-citeproc that is doing the work here. You can also put the bibliography where you want by inserting a div with id of "refs".
-
Ah, that worked pretty well! Here's what I get now for the first two citations: Anthony Snodgrass “What Is Classical Archaeology: Greek Archaeology,” in Classical Archaeology, ed. Susan E. Alcock and Robin Osborne, Second, Blackwell Studies in Glo…

If there were a way to easily tell when the server had a file attachment, I could work with that.

Bug report: There's a typo in the little alert box that pops up when Zotfile can't find a file in the sync folder. It ends with "does not exists". No final "s" needed there, of course. EDIT: I did a PR for this on github. Also my smart search fo…

Zotero has a number of weird editing features that I've always just attributed to the tools used to build it and the fact that it's cross-platform. Still...

Yes, there are ways around this issue, but I still think it's a bug. Anytime you click outside an edit field, focus should leave that field. Instead there seem to be designated places to click to remove focus, at least within the Info pane. Runnin…

Well, it looks like those snapshots the bookmarklet makes do get saved to my Zotero storage, even though I use local storage. Two questions: 1. Is there an easy way to tell which files have snapshots on the server? 2. Is there an easy way to get t…

Because, again, almost all fields are generally a single line, so clicking just toggles between an uneditable and editable field in-place without creating a huge text area that shifts the whole view. (I find that the Publication field is frequently …
-
I thought as much, though the bookmarklet does report making one. This is why I'm asking for the ability to create a snapshot for an existing entry in Standalone.
-
But if you don't use the server for your attachments?
-
Clicking outside fields doesn't close them for me. I don't mind some fields being minimized to one line when not in edit mode (though Publication doesn't do that), but it makes no sense to me to have them shrink to one line when being edited. As I …
-
So where are those snapshots going that the Bookmarklet says it's creating?
-
Not sure what you mean here. When not selected, Title behaves like all other fields, expanding enough to show the full content. The only difference is that, like Abstract and Extra, when selected it gives you more room to type in, because longer val…
