Relatedly, it seems that annotations get added to an attachment when I use the "Add Note from Annotations" contextual menu item, so I get both a note with annotations and a separate section in the attachment info section. (I'm not sure if this is ne…

Just adding a "me too" here and using the word "annotation" to make it easier to find. I missed it in my search of the forum just now. My post: 117794

Curious about this as well, especially about the leading link put into markdown notes via the api. That doesn't seem available in the config, unless I'm missing something.

I agree that the key would be better placed at top. I often need to grab it and hate having to scroll or click to get to it.
-
Thanks, both. Is there a place where stuff like this is documented, so I can avoid excess posts?

I see that there’s always been a title. I just had no idea that it existed, after years of using Zotero, which is why I say this may be confusing: I was confused. I’m not quite sure I see the benefit of attachment titles, but maybe that’s just how I…

Thanks for all that. I’ll try to live with this a while. I still find it a bit odd that the file now has three titles, as it were: the file name, the one in the pdf metadata (optional but usually there), and now this one in Zotero, which I didn’t e…

Perhaps I am, yes. I don't usually (ever, actually) drag files to add them. On my laptop Zotero takes up the full screen, so I use the contextual menu for that. I see that the command key moves instead of copies on dray. Is there such an option for…

+1 This was in fact the first thing I tried. It's how the pane on Safari is closed, for example. The current method of "click and move slightly to the right" to close is very non-standard behavior (on MacOS anyway).

Thanks for the links to the plugins. I just want to note that moving files when they are added to an item instead of copying them seems like basic functionality that shouldn't require a plugin. I'd prefer to see an option, but I'd imagine that a go…

I'll give this a try, as suggested, but my first reaction is that it's counter-intuitive and not an improvement. I agree with with @sdflewrit783 that the icon indicates the file type, so a generic "PDF" as a title is pointless, as it tells the user …

Any work on creating one of the suggestions made above, like a "Zoom to page height" button? TIA.
-
TBH, I'm not sure exactly where I got the link, but I was searching for a particular title, so it could have been an internet search.

I think I may be seeing this or a variation of it. The connector was failing to load this JSTOR item on Safari: https://www.jstor.org/stable/bf3f923a-35f7-30d7-9678-8b673809fbce?seq=19 It just popped up the little alert, but never showed the file…

Re-affirming my support for some kind of "show whole page" button option. "Fit width" is nice, but not my usual way of looking through docs.
-
+1 on there being a toolbar icon for "Zoom to page height" (which, btw, strikes me as an unusual way to put it; something like "Zoom to Fit" is more typical to my mind). I also wouldn't mind an icon for "Automatically resize".

Great stuff. I'm enjoying learning about the new capabilities. It would be amazing to have these as variables: {{group_key}}, {{item_key}} (parent), {{file_key}}, and {{annotation_key}}. Just want to second the request for this. Also item tags would…

FWIW, if you know the username, the URL for the profile is simply https://www.zotero.org/[username] so you're here: https://www.zotero.org/btwhite Well, not quite. You need to put the username into all lowercase letters. For example, my username is …

Thanks. The cheat does work, though it's disappointing this didn't get picked up in the new version.

Sorry to add to an old thread, but did this addition of editors to webpages make it into v. 5? I don't find anything on the changelog at https://www.zotero.org/support/changelog.

A bit of a related question, I think: is it possible to find related items directly? That is, is there an easy way to perform a find that results in only related items showing up in the middle pane? I can of course click on the "Related" tab, but th…

Well that’s not nice of Google. I suppose zotero is playing nice when it makes the request. And yes, the security restrictions block the bookmarklet, which I don’t really have a problem with, though it obviously gets in the way here. I’m not sure …

Yeah, I’ve got a workaround workflow now, but I was hoping there would be a way to do something with the bibtex or ris that the site generates for a single citation. So I could maybe pass zotero a link to the webpage that is just the bibtex and it w…

OK, thanks.

I’m not so sure about that. I ended up doing a website import, then editing the entry, which is what I would have done if the standalone had done the adding. I just had to to the website to do it. More steps.
-
So it’s not possible to simply imitate the website behavior in the standalone?

Thanks. (I do know about the save-to-Zotero function.) Can I therefore make this a feature request, that the Add by Identifier recognize text that has the hdl.handle.net in it? Or that it just add handle.net to the source it checks identifiers agai…

It doesn't seem like this info ever made it to the About page.
-
About to use zotero with a class, so would love for this to be working. :-)
-
A follow-up on this as I just noticed that JSTOR presents what I would call Zotero tags as "topics". They're in a variable "contentData" as json inside a script on each page. A simple `jq .topics[]` on that var grabs them as quoted text. This is be…
