Changing the Exec line worked for me in Ubuntu 24.04, but I only have a generic system icon, rather than the proper Zotero one. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
-
It turns out that the problem was with the Zotero snap version. Using the official tarball has solved the problem.

When I navigate to the directory, the file is there but I can't open it with my browser. I can, however, access it using a text editor.

OS = Ubuntu 23.10 Firefox 125.0.3

@dstillman I've tried symlinkining (not copying) it into that directory, but the symlink doesn't work out (it appears as a broken symlink). I'll have to look into that next....
-
Copying it to ~/.usr/share/applications didn't work, as you've written (although it was successful in creating the icon launcher, though of course it did nothing). I just don't get why the instructions you've given result in a broken symlink...
-
Creating a symlink to ~/.local/share/applications/zotero.desktop did absolutely nothing as far as the launcher is concerned. Putting it in ~/.usr/share/applications resulted in a broken link which does nothing.
-
Duh, it's ./set_launcher_icon (as root)
-
I'm trying to install on Debian according to the instructions here: https://www.zotero.org/support/installation but I'm not sure how to run the set_launcher_icon script. Noob question, I know, but I've never run scripts before from the terminal....H…

Thank you. I can cofirm that Zotero works with Iceweasel 30.

Thanks adamsmith. I had to delete the openoffice config file before reinstalling the plugin for it to work.
-
Reinstallation of the plugin only worked for me after I deleted the config file for OpenOffice (~/.config/libreoffice), as suggested by wlx.
-
I see. And I'm guessing there's no workaround or solution?
-
Thanks guys for the quick response. Distro is Ubuntu 13.10 and LO version 4.1.3.2. Installation of libreoffice-java-common has done the trick; however for some reason I have only text rather than icons for Insert Citation, Edit Citation etc.
-
That's great. Thank you adamsmith for the quick and easy response.
-
THanks Gracile. The classic view is a workaround I've been using on ocassion but its not ideal as the window is too small and doesn't show the years of publications which I've already selected (i.e. in the right pane). As far as automatic sorting, i…

got it-your way works-it's just a matter of adjusting them together in the right way.
-
Ahh, but those settings seem to move the footnote number together with the whole line....off to the LO forums haha. Thank you adamsmith!
-
Yes you're right! Now...how to make that adjustment in LibreOffice... Thanks again for the hint!
-
Hmm okay I'll look into that. Thank you.

I take it there is no solution to my problem, or am I missing something?
-
OK, understood.

Bump...

Hi Adam, thanks for the quick response. To answer your question, yes it is.
-
Thank you Dan. You were right in that it was a firefox issue. A new profile and reinstallation of add-ons fixed it.
-
OK thank you for that. I've deleted that certificate. Now I get the same error as the OP (i.e. SSL certificate error connecting to sync.zotero.org) when trying to sync. If I try to connect to sync.zotero.org, I get a warning about an untrusted conne…

Dan I have been having a similar problem since this morning (error 136806905). When I try to visit the link you posted above I am redirected to www.google.com. I have accepted the sync server's certificate. Details of error: [invalid response from …
