Got it!

@adamsmith & @dstillman this an indispensable feature that has been requested since 2014, 5 years later we still have nothing. Are we going to see this implemented any time soon? There are plenty of options to have this implemented org-mode file…

@kevintaylor Thanks for making the xpi, I'm having the same exact issues as @realtime99. Not being able to access the options of the plugin. I get the exact same message as @realtime99
-
Yup, still the same behaviour!
-
Here's the image Which also reminds me that the forum here needs to be updated as well. It's not easy at all to quote, post formatted text of imgs without taking additional steps and knowing html.
-
I would also like to have this feature as well! The concept and working code from @RikLaHoule is pretty nice and I believe it can further be optimised by using a number of other free resources such as arxiv-sanity which also provides I believe a sim…

Indeed, I'm already using this option so that all linked files are renamed according to a specific pattern (which is a good option to have in the first place IMHO).
-
(And no, deleting a softlink or a hardlink or a symlink does not delete the original file). I don't know how zotero works internally but the fact is that zotero knows where the files live, for instance the right click "show file" option brings me ex…
-
You're simply mistaken here. If you create a link or alias on any OS and delete it and empty the trash, only the link is deleted, not the original file. I think that depends on whether that's a soft or had link. While that doesn't mean there couldn'…
-
I use a different storage system but it seems to me as something that should be added, as I mentioned especially when you are emptying the trash folder, it could simply ask the user do you want to remove any associated files (if the true reason behi…

Does the icon of a pdf with a chain on top indicate a linked file? "Zotero won't delete linked files and probably shouldn't" Why is that necessarily bad if the user wants to remove an item and everything associated with it. Especially when you ex…

Whenever you visit a file on arxiv.org with an identifier it always preselects the newest version for you. For example in this link https://arxiv.org/abs/1312.6120 there are three versions of the pdf named v1,v2,v3 and whenever you visit the link v…
-
That should be added at some point, just as another option in the Item Type drop-down menu saying Other where a text-box would allow the user to type their preferred item type.
-
@dstillman that's almost good, cause it requires the user to go and check for each pdf if there's a newer version. Imagine having huge number of collections and pdfs, having this automatic feature can save the day or the month. I wonder how much di…
-
@dstillman thanks, that's great to know.
-
@dstillman I get your arguments but I think you might have misunderstood my point. "There's no reason to do moving from the library root" If I have multiple collections and thousands of pdfs chances are that I won't remember in which collection I…
-
@dstillermann Thanks for the clarification but that's really a lot of steps for an easy task, wouldn't it be easier to just search for the item from library root and directly move it from there, I suppose that library root knows where the item is lo…
-
@adamsmith This only works if you directly pick an item from a collection/subcollection and move it to another one via the shift key but if you go to My Library and search for an item from the "All fields & tags bar" and then move it using the …

Yup, that's the one I was referring to but haven't used extensively in order to provide full review yet.
-
Has anyone tried ZotEz? It works for android.
-
Maybe I did formulate the question wrong but essentially this is what I meant: "flag items missing common fields" Essentially a lot of ref. managers do that by checking what are common fields for bibtex and then based on those they flag the items an…
-
Thanks folks, I think it was a cache issue, now things seem to be back to normal.
-
@emilianoheyns true but the only problem is that they don't show up on the right-hand pane at all. For the same item which contains different keywords in zotero doesn't show anything neither in the right-hand pane nor in the tags sections in the low…
-
@emilianoheyns That's correct, that describes appropriately my situation. Can you point me to an example of a BBT postscript?
-
Then how do you explain these keywords showing up on a different reference manager when opening the .bib file versus these ones which exist in zotero tags. Obviously there are much more keywords showing up when opening the .bib file using external r…
-
@emilianoeheyns Awesome, thanks a bunch ;)
-
@mc288 I presume that %c is a wildcard for conference venue or something equivalent make sure that all your items in the library have the venue or conference field not empty otherwise I believe it creates the undefined folder
-
Cool, thanks I'll see if there's a way to push stuff from bibsonomy to zotero maybe that could do the trick, instead of using a one step procedure now I'll have to use a two step, bookmark to bibsonomy and from there somehow get it into zotero.
-
Is this the correct bookmarklet code? If so then from here it seems that any spaces are replaced by %20d, I had a similar issue with the bibsonomy bookmarklet until the folks there pointed me into another bookmarklet code which didn't had any spaces…
-
@emilianoheyns thanks for the response. The mix of markup latex is for the notes tab in zotero. As it is to me it seems that is very restricted, you can't do anything beyond the basic formatting that it offers. For instance, you can't write math for…
